Change your mind.

What should I do to get rid of my heart and completely replace it?

Strive to reconcile causes and relationships to improve one's heart

Ken-sama

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

In order to uproot your mind and completely replace it, you must first know what the mind is.

What exactly can be called a “heart”...

First, refer to the questions and answers between Daishi Daruma and Master Keika about “heart” below...

“Daruma Safety Questions and Answers”...

Daruma face wall. The two ancestors, Risxue, lost their arms, and the disciples felt uneasy. Beggars feel safe. Grind the clouds and bring your heart. With You An. Zuun and Takashi Shinryō are unbelievable. Mist the clouds and feel at ease for you.

“Daruma is masked, and the two ancestors stood up to Yuki and cut off their arms, and their disciples and hearts are still not at ease. I beg, Master, have peace of mind. Hush your heart, and rest in peace with you (for). So, even though I lost my heart (originally), I couldn't get it (finally). Ma-un, peace of mind for you.”

Master Dharma is the founder of the (Chinese) Zen sect. It is an exchange with Master Huike, who later became the second founder of the (Chinese) Zen sect, asking Daruma Daishi, who is zazen facing the wall, to become an apprentice.

In response to Daruma, who is facing her face in the snow, Keiko cuts off her own arm, shows her degree of preparedness, and tries to ask for advice.

However, it is commonly believed that the episode where he cut off his arm was creative to show that he wanted to become an apprentice with such determination.

Keike said, “My heart still doesn't feel at ease, and I'm anxious. Please calm my heart.”
Daruma, “Well, please take out that anxious heart. Then I'll put your mind at ease.”
Huike, “I searched for that heart, but in the end, I couldn't get it without finding it.”
Daruma: “Yes, now I've made your heart feel at ease”

As mentioned above, even if you try to find out if this is the heart or if that is the heart, nothing can be found... in other words, the mind is not an entity anywhere. Of course, this does not mean that there is nothing; it is made up of various causal relationships (causes and conditions). According to a good cause, to a good heart; according to a bad cause, to a bad heart. It's like that, and it's not an entity that can definitely be said to be this.

In other words, it depends on cause and effect. For us, we want to keep a good heart by studying and practicing Buddhism, which is also a teaching of causality to improve our minds.

Nice to meet you, Ken. I read your question.

Ken wants to completely change his mind, doesn't he?

I don't know why Ken-san wanted to replace Kokosori, but if you want to replace Godsori, please reinstall Kokoro's OS.

Specifically, it's about having an experience you've never done before.
For example, try spending a year at an ascetic dojo in Koyasan. It takes a great deal of preparation, physical strength, and mental strength, though.

Kukai said, “Buddhism is not something far away. It's in your heart. I said, “Why don't you seek Buddhism?”

Another idea is to completely replace your mind, but I think the more important thing is just covering dust in the back of your heart, but how about it?

I'll try to consider methods other than replacing.

I also read past questions.
You feel guilty about your past and even now.
Every day would be difficult if you were worried like this.

I think Ken is a serious and thoughtful person.
I'm not writing about relaxation in particular.
That's not an answer.

“Change your mind” is in the title of the question, but does that mean you want to secretly change the contents of your head?
However, rather than replacing myself, I think it would be nice to walk the path of acknowledging myself.

Everyone has a different way of looking at things.
You feel like you're not good at it, but from my point of view, it feels like I wrote it earlier.
Similarly, even if you look at it from another person's point of view, the way they feel about you is different.
In other words, instead of keeping in mind that you will change yourself, I think that by incorporating the opinions of other people, you will expand your horizons even further.

Also, it's a good way to focus on one thing.
I've been working hard on martial arts for a certain number of years, and compared to before I started, when I was so fluffy, I felt like I was sitting one by one.

By concentrating on one thing, I gain confidence, and I also feel that I have changed.
Once you gain confidence, it won't be difficult to acknowledge yourself.

The desire to change oneself is very precious.
However, paradoxically speaking, once you like and accept yourself, you don't need to change it.

Right now, you feel an inferiority complex for not being able to do anything, but even if you try your best here, it just gets tough, and there is a possibility that you won't be able to do anything as a result.
When you have a good rest, there will come a time when your head will feel lighter.
At that time, please think deeply about changing your mind again.

Look at the fact that they are always quietly being replaced from a different angle

It would be difficult if the previous one remained.
A clear way of looking at things is important in order to recognize oneself.
Where is the previous one in the first place?
Birds are singing, the sun at 10 o'clock, the phone ringing, the taste of lunch, the coffee and cigarettes I used to drink, all of which are nowhere. It has been uprooted and completely gone.
It is impermanent to know this. It's empty.
Don't worry, nothing is irresistible about this self.
Isn't it just “I feel like” the previous one is completely left over?
That's the wrong way to look at things.
As for the essence of my body and mind, I have completely eradicated what had been true until a moment ago and ended it completely. The only reason you think it's not over is just your head misunderstanding.
Every moment we dance, every second, every second, our hearts are being uprooted and changed.
I didn't know this, and even if I pursued the ideals I had imagined in my head, it was just that I organized them by thought.
Buddhism is not a philosophical way of looking at things through thought.
It is a path to make it clear that the truth and reality of one's self has definitely been completely uprooted and taken over by the root.
If you understand that, hola, the past won't be anywhere anymore.
I uprooted it and got it back completely.
