How to do zazen
I want to keep my distance from the noisy world, and I feel that there isn't enough tranquility in today's world. I would like to do zazen there. What kind of attitude should I take when doing zazen meditation at home?

Hello, Kotobuki.
I want to calm my mind by doing zazen meditation at home. That's great.
Currently, many zazen books are sold, and there are sites that explain a lot on the internet, so you should be able to learn more accurately than asking here. Please look for it.
However, self-study is fine, but after all, learning with a teacher is the shortest distance. There are quite a few temples that have zazen sessions at nearby temples, so if you participate and read books, I think you'll understand how to do it better. I think there are temples where Hasunoha monks also have zazen sessions.
Be sure to visit a temple that has held zazen once. You'll be able to remember that one without making a mistake.

I receive the state of my surroundings “as it is,” conveyed from one's five senses.
Then, let's pay attention to how “thoughts” that naturally boil up continue to have an ex post facto influence “reality that should have been received as it is.”
Rather, not being “mindful” may be the attitude for zazen meditation (^o^)
It may be quite difficult to successfully complete zazen meditation by jumping one step at a time.
We recommend that you meditate under the guidance of an instructor.
Nice to meet you. My name is Honda Seihiro.
Well, I wanted to answer this time because there were 4 things that stuck in the short question. Below, I'll tell you where I got caught. First of all, I apologize for saying it in a slightly disgusting way.
> I want to keep my distance from the noisy world
I think the noise is what Kotobuki feels. Even if you keep a distance, it may not be solved unless Kotobuki keeps a distance from “Kotobuki herself.”
> I feel that there isn't enough tranquility in the world today.
What time is it now? Was it 2017? Or maybe July 9th? I'm sorry for putting it in such a daze, but if I try to find a shortage in today's world, I feel like I'm starting to make a lot of mistakes. Of course, we need what we need (human rights, etc.).
> I would like to do zazen there.
Zazen is not meant to increase serenity. Sure, you may find serenity in the end, but you may also suffer from your own noisiness along the way. If you want some tranquility, mountain climbing or scuba diving might be better.
> What kind of attitude should I take?
There is no need to be prepared for zazen. Rather, it can be said that solving postures is zazen meditation.
What bothered me the most about Kotobuki's question was that she felt the world was noisy. This is not a problem that can be solved through zazen meditation, and we must change Kotobuki's way of life. It's a bit exaggerated, but it's a way of life that changes the world. When you feel that something is making noise, it's always a time when you don't feel quiet about yourself. If you feel calm about yourself, even if it's noisy, it won't turn into dissatisfaction.
For Kotobuki, “now,” where she feels a lot of noise, is an opportunity. If you can find something to calm yourself down, the rest of your life will be easier. Zazen may have come up as a candidate for that, but try many things without narrowing it down.
There is no escape from zazen. If you feel like doing it, sit as long as you want. Until then, look not only at zazen, but also at the world. I'm praying that Kotobuki will find something fun and relaxing!

If zazen could be conveyed by exchanging characters like this, people all over the world would have attained Buddhism long ago.
The first step in learning zazen is to stop the attitude of learning easily on the internet and have an attitude of learning from real leaders in the real world. It's an age where Shiroto is teaching even one form of mindfulness.
There are professionals in every part of the world, so is something that simple enough?
In the first place, not limited to zazen, the path of things is a real world away from such an unrealistic world of internet information and brain information.
What you're doing here is exchanging letters.
If you want to do zazen, the two-dimensional manners, search the internet for how to do zazen, and there are lots of videos.
That kind of zazen is just a form.
You can try imitating it. After all, it's a two-dimensional monkey imitation.
It doesn't help.
There are also many people who spread that kind of zazen and people who think that zazen can be conveyed by that kind of thing, so those who learn it also make mistakes in the first step.
I wonder if I can learn how to butcher soft-shelled turtles and pufferfish through videos.
Can you master zazen by reading zazen books and booklets?
I've been sitting at the head temple of the Soto sect for 10 years, and even so, I think I was doing the wrong zazen meditation. Anybody can sit down.
So what is zazen? What do you do in zazen?
Why did the founder of zazen in Japan, Dogen Zenji, leave so many books about zazen?
Since it can't be conveyed in about 1000 characters at all, that's probably all that was left.
If you take the instructions for zazen easy, it's a story about adjusting your body, breathing, and mind. I don't really recommend this kind of zazen instruction.
The reason for this is not described here, but zazen isn't that kind of nonsense.
If it were that easy to convey, wouldn't you need a Zen training dojo?
Conversely, to learn nembutsu, you can simply chant “Namu Amida Buddha” with these characters. If I were to say that, would you really be convinced? Is it that simple?
Whether it's calligraphy, cooking, musical instruments, sports, or business, I think it's better to stop that easy attitude, throw away your head and your own way of thinking in the actual field, and have an attitude of trying to learn from people in the real job.
First of all, don't you think it is necessary to review the sick feeling of us modern people that “the internet seems to be enough” by doing zazen meditation?
