Response to self-deprecating stories about the elderly
I think monks often interact with older people because of their work, so let me ask you a question.
I work as a cleaning part at a paid nursing home, and once in a while, tenants talk to me.
Most of them are greetings, and once in a while, people say thank you or that's helpful. I'm simple, so that one word motivates me.
I'm happy to be talked to, but once in a while, it's safe to be blurry here ~, a self-deprecating story (?) There is.
In response to that, I replied, “Please don't say such sad things ~ (=ω°), with a balance of 50 serious anger and 50 jokes.
But after thinking about it later, I realized that no matter how I looked at it, she was a solid woman (in terms of speaking and appearance), so that was 100% a joke...
It makes me sad when casual jokes don't get through.
On the other hand, ah, I'm already at an age where even blurry stories are taken seriously.
I'm sorry that I was disappointed.
If you were a monk, how would you respond? I have lived in welfare facilities in the past as a user, and I have been encouraged and hurt by interacting with staff, so the residents and myself overlap.
As for my position, I am the cleaning part below, and the tenants who pay expensive living expenses are superior. Of course...
