I want to be like the Buddha
I want to have a kind and open heart like a Buddha. What should I do to do that? If I do that, can I go to heaven?

I read it.
Please do your best from the bottom of your heart so that you can take advantage of the Buddha's mercy and wisdom. Also, please have a heart that will guide others correctly.
If that is the case, you will eventually become a Buddha. And you'll be able to go to a pure land that is more perfect than being in heaven.
Please do your best from now on.
“I want to have a kind and open heart like a Buddha.”
you too!? Actually, me too.
“What should I do to do that?”
It seems that if you can steadily practice and complete the Four Noble Eightfold Path, you can attain Buddhism. The quickest way is to chant Nembutsu.
“If I do that, can I go to heaven?”
Oh, is that what it's for? Somehow the order is reversed, isn't it?
He passed away in heaven (pure land, to be exact) in order to have a kind and open heart like a Buddha.
I don't become a Buddha because I want to go to heaven. If even becoming a Buddha was for self-interest and selfishness, it might be a bit over the real deal.
Why do we want to have a kind and open heart like a Buddha?
Isn't that to support, encourage, comfort, and heal others?
Isn't it to be a source of strength for people in need?
Isn't it to have someone close to someone who is crying?
Isn't it to get among those in dispute and successfully arbitrate?
This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.
Regarding Buddhist practices to become like a Buddha, that is, to attain Buddha/enlightenment, there is something called “Ramrim,” which begins with Atisha Daishi in late Indian Buddhism, as something organized in a systematic, systematic, and hierarchical manner.
Among them, “Lam Lim” by Tibetan Master Tsongkapa is excellent as the culmination.
It's the “Bodhi Path Progressive Theory” and the “Bodhi Path Progressive Theory.”
Actually, the final translation of “The Way of the Buddha” was also published last month, so I can now learn Japanese translations and commentaries for both.
It shows in detail how to walk in Buddhism so that even we can reach enlightenment, so if you don't mind, I would be happy if you could use it along with reading comprehension as well as for practice.

Please aim to become a Buddha by all means. Becoming a Buddha means everything looks like a Buddha. Good people and bad people must look like Buddha. Please be prepared for that. After that, I don't know if I'll be able to go to heaven. I think they're probably referring to the Pure Land of Paradise, but I don't know about it.
All I can say is, why don't you make this world a paradise, a pure land of paradise? You become a Buddha and make this world a pure paradise. What a great mission? I'm looking forward to it. I would love to cooperate too.
