Monk's meal

Sorry for asking so many stupid questions. It's something I'm interested in...
Is there a meal that left an impression on you as a monk?
It's a very common way of saying, “The beer I drank after training was amazing.” It's fine in moderation. (This isn't there, is it?)

Incidentally, after running 3 round trips from the mountainside to the summit, I ate just plain white rice, which I ate 3 hours later, was the most delicious.

After that, it's completely unrelated, but I discussed it here. It seems like I'll be able to live in a slightly positive way.
The people at the company that supported me, the monk who gave me advice, the answers to my concerns, etc. were very helpful.
Thank you very much.

The first porridge I ate after coming back to life

SLPS

Humble monk, actually, I had an experience last spring where I had cardiac arrest, being unconscious for 5 days, and spending a few weeks in the super ICU at a university hospital due to an unexpected infection (laughs)

While in the hospital, I can't forget the things I ate for the first time after regaining consciousness, such as porridge, ultra-light hanpen, and jelly-like sumashi soup because there is a risk of aspiration.

It's something that makes you feel “alive.”

Even now, there are some sequelae, but come back to life (reincarnation?) I was moved by the porridge I ate for the first time, and the mapo tofu commercial I saw on the hospital room TV said, “Oh, I want to eat it!!” Looking back, I feel that there is a figure of my own body full of worries in the place where it responds.

I can't be a holy good person (^ person ^;)

It was delicious!

I read it
As you said, after the training was over, we came down the mountain, came back to the lower world, and we all drank beer at an izakaya at Sokko, and it was really delicious! I drank it in an indescribable sense of openness, and the deliciousness doubled!
That feeling of openness was instantaneous, though. That's because it's common sense after all.

However, each meal I receive every day has given me precious lives, so I'm really thankful for that. While I am grateful for that, I would like to continue devoting myself to Buddhism.

It's not rice, but...

This is a story about a person who died suddenly on his birthday,
I served the cake I had reserved for the wake.
After that, we all shared the cake.

“My birthday is now the anniversary of my death,
It's also my new birthday as Buddha.”
I've talked about things like that,
It was a very peaceful time.

After 100 Days of Atrocity

Hello.
In our denomination, there are acts of violence carried out by blocking off the outside world for 100 days in winter. There, food, sleep, etc. are severely restricted. Meals are only served twice a day, with only light porridge and miso soup.
The teriyaki burger I ate after that outrage had an unbelievable taste like it was out of this world! But it felt so spicy that I was only able to eat 2 bites.
However, eating itself was a valuable experience that made me genuinely happy.

bread

This is the first bread I've eaten in 3 months since I started a vegetarian lifestyle. “Eh!? what's this!? “Did bread have this much flavor and aroma!?!?” I was moved.
Since this was the three-month vegetarian cuisine restriction, I thought it was just a shock to the people who ate bread for the first time during the Sengoku period.

Also, pork cutlets were kindly received around the same time. Fat was tough just because it was a time when my body was adapting to my ascetic lifestyle... I shouldn't leave it behind, but to be honest, it was hard to eat everything...
But I remember very well that my body felt unbelievably light when I got a rag while cleaning that night. It's true that eating meat makes you feel better... Well, that's why I don't actively eat meat during my ascetic lifestyle so as not to get too energetic.

It was often written as “you heal as soon as you drink it” in old drug advertisements, but I also felt that it wasn't that much hype. We are now in an age of satiety, so we can't feel it because everyone uses too much regular use and our bodies are used to it... but if we are in a state where we tend to be chronically deficient, our condition changes like the strong medicine you get at the hospital... Surprisingly, the mental problems in the age of too much information are probably the same.

Fried eggplant

Good evening.

After a lot of exercise, white rice was probably really delicious. That's great.

I had stomach surgery when I was 18. For about 1 month before and after surgery, I was on a liquid diet for about 1 month after surgery, and after that, I was on a liquid diet for about 1 month. The first solid thing I ate in 2 months was the deep-fried eggplant that was served at school lunch that day. Until then, eggplant was a food I didn't like, but from this point on, eggplant became my favorite food. It was delicious.

Maybe it's because I had trouble eating during my training at Motoyama. Everything is delicious now. That's why you get fat (laughs) Be careful not to eat too much, even if it's delicious.
