If you unravel history, religions, including Buddhism, have changed their shape according to who they are proselytizing.
For example, when Buddhism first entered Japan, those in power who wanted to save the entire country sought Buddhism. Since then, high priests from the Tang dynasty were invited and Buddhism was actively adopted, worshipped mainly by the aristocrats and royal families, and Buddhism was nurtured to meet the needs of the aristocrats and royal families.
Also, the times have passed quite a bit, but since the targets of missionary work became samurai and peasants during the Kamakura period, advanced teaching was not necessary, and people believed in nembutsu and titles that could be put into practice as easily as possible due to the need to be saved from the current situation anyway. Thus, Buddhism changed its form along with the times and with the target audience.
If you turn around and look at modern society, the target for proselytizing has changed from two to three households → nuclear families → individuals. Therefore, in the coming era, I think there will be a demand for Buddhism that is needed by individuals, and Buddhism that is specific to individuals.
The reason I started Hasunoha was also because I wanted to commit to each person and pass on Buddhism from such a background. Religion is made of people. There is no example of a religion that has survived due to a religion that did not respond to people's needs.
