How to enlighten?
What should I do to become enlightened?
Do zazen?
Do you read a lot of Buddhist books?
Please tell me what to do to become enlightened.

Let's get a master teacher.
Let's follow the teacher for the next steps.
Let's go and look for the teacher.
For now, let's participate in various ways regardless of denomination (not including emerging religions).
You don't need any preparation with the book. Rather, if you have a preconceived idea, it will cause you to misunderstand what your teacher says.
Kaikai is a lifestyle practice of keeping commandments such as the Five Commandments.
Meditation is a practice of concentration called meditating meditation.
Enlightenment is an ascetic practice called wisdom, observation, and Vipassana meditation to notice the truth as it is (suffering, impermanence, selflessness, etc.).
There are various Buddhist practices, but in the end, it is said that these are the three practices (trifectures).
Enlightenment is when one becomes aware of the truth and affliction (the cause of worry and suffering) disappears.
It seems that there are 4 stages of enlightenment. (Not all worries go away in one shot. (Worries gradually decrease.)
Note, in the Jodo sect, this world is an environment where it is difficult to understand (time has passed since the Buddha passed away, and the Buddhist cult has declined, so it is difficult to practice the three sciences),
First, I think we should aim to be reborn into an environment that is easy to understand in the next life.
The Jodo sect aims to pass away in the easy-to-understand world called the Pure Land of Paradise, where there is a Buddha called Amida Buddha.
The Jodo sect believes that it is possible to pass away in the Pure Land of Paradise simply by praying for death and saying nembutsu with the mouth of Namu Amida Buddha.
In order to understand, practice the three sciences.
The environment where it is easy to practice the three sciences is the Pure Land of Paradise.
In the Japanese Buddhist world, the idea that it is difficult to understand in this world occurred from around the Heian period, and the Jodo sect became popular.
However, it is currently said that it is not difficult for Elder Sumanasara (Sri Lankan monk) of the Japan Terawada Buddhist Association to reach enlightenment (the first stage of enlightenment).
The method of Vipassana meditation has been introduced to some extent on the internet,
It seems that some people (talented people) may reach the first stage of enlightenment even if they just listen to a sermon without meditating.
Good morning, Mi-chan.
Enlightenment, in a nutshell, is pure intellect.
True intellect is to know one's own heart as if it were true.
They look at themselves and their own mind as a third party, observe, know their own state and essence as they are, and walk what they should do and the path they should take.
If you know it as it is, you can naturally see what you need to do, get rid of your hesitation (the origin of worry, basic ignorance), and reach a state of enlightenment and a world of truth.
The state of knowing oneself as it is is the wisdom of the Buddha
According to the acquired state, which is the wisdom of the three sciences, the means of observing oneself are the rules of the three sciences, such as meditation, zazen, meditation, and Ajikan, etc., and preparations for observing oneself are in the sutras, and it is in the precepts of the three sciences.
They observe and control themselves through the Hachishodo, which is the practice of Buddhism, and the Rokuhara Mitsu training, which is the practice of Mahayana Buddhism. This is the path to enlightenment, and it is the practice of Jitomyo Dōmō, the spirit of Nakamichi, which is the teaching of Shakyamuni.
Please observe yourself, understand what you need to do, and live a better day.
I hope it's helpful.
I'm rooting for you.
Gassho (^ people ^)
Please note that the story changes slightly.
There is always a cause for an outcome.
It's important to think carefully about that relationship.
Enlightenment is a wonderful thing, but more than that, I think you need this right now.
The situation you are in now is a result of your actions in the past, isn't it?
Similarly, your future situation is a result of your actions now.
I want you to look ahead to the future you want and concentrate on what you can do now.
For example, compared to how many people walk 10 steps a day, you may only walk 1 step a day.
But they always get to their destination.
I don't have time to watch other people's social media.
Let's focus on what you need to do right now.
Live your daily life properly, work hard at good deeds, and don't do bad things.
Understand well the various things that unfold before your eyes.
Improve yourself and be considerate of others.
Then, I remember that I am a precious person myself.
It may be simple, but maybe that's what enlightenment is.
I read your question.
Could it be that this question is due to the addition of my answer to the previous question?
The reason I stopped envious of others was not because I had reached enlightenment, but because I came into contact with Buddhist values.
In the world, status, honor, and money are the criteria for success, but Buddhism says that these are also changing, so stop pursuing them.
If you are drawn to that teaching and immerse yourself in it all the time, you won't feel envious even if someone shows off someone else's rear filling on SNS.
That's because my vector isn't suited for that.
Envy people is something that happens because the vectors are heading to the same place.
So what I think is that your vector was originally suited to a different place.
My “this!” Having done something you love that can be said, isn't your happiness in continuing to do it?
However, now your vector is directed towards happiness in the world in general.
Maybe that blurring is your pain.
I'm not talking about which one is better or worse, but I think the time has come to choose which direction to direct the vector.
And once you've made your choice, all that's left is to work hard on the road.
Everyone has the seeds to understand.
However, it is extremely difficult for that flower to bloom in a murky world and an age of no Buddha.
It's a bit of a rough explanation, but in the past, in Buddhism,
[Commandment] Let's keep the rules [Determination] Let's practice [Wisdom] Let's study
There was a learning system called the Three Sciences. In order to gain wisdom, ascetic practices were essential, and in order to accumulate ascetic practices, precepts were a major prerequisite. By the way, the precepts set by the Buddha 2,500 years ago must have been based on Indian culture and common sense at that time. So, are the precepts born 2,500 years ago in the distant land of India taught in Heisei Japan? Of course, not everything is everything, but there must be many things that don't work. In other words, the precepts set by the Buddha are out of date. If the usefulness of the precepts expires, the ascetic practice cannot be established. If you can't practice, you won't be able to gain wisdom. In other words, it can be said that it is extremely difficult to attain enlightenment even if you practice ascetic practices as taught by the Buddha in modern times.
Heck, that's impossible.
So, let's pass away in the Pure Land of Paradise, attain complete enlightenment, achieve liberation, and attain Buddhism brilliantly. In other words, let's go to an environment where enlightenment is possible, practice without worry, and attain enlightenment brilliantly.
Therefore, it is essential to [pass away] in the Pure Land of Paradise first, and that is the first step.
