Please tell me how to deal with people who preach

There are people in my family who always preach
I'm having trouble dealing with that person.
That person is an event such as New Year's or when I get together with my family, etc.
I'm extra tired because of the people I often meet.
Also, they are people who drink quite a bit of alcohol,
When you get drunk, the number of sermons increases even more
If this is the case
I was wondering how to deal with it, and I was able to discuss it.
I would like your advice.

I really appreciate everyone who always gives me advice.
Thank you very much.

I'll listen to the story is also an ascetic practice

When you're being preached, it's a scene where your own anger, laziness, and anger of pride is being tested.
Let's listen to the sermon calmly without succumbing to anger, laziness, or pride.
In Buddhism, there is an ascetic practice called giving (fuse).
Presenting goods or money to others is also a form of charity, but giving up a seat on a train or giving someone a place to play an active role is also a form of charity.
Why don't you listen to your relatives with the intention of giving them a place of activity called a sermon?
Also, if someone in your family preaches, they may be worried or dissatisfied with you.
Listening to a sermon is an opportunity to learn how others and relatives view you.
Also, a relative will say things on your behalf that would be difficult for your family to say to you (nosy?) There may also be times when they think and say it.

I also say to my kids, “Go to bed early” and “do your homework early.”
That's because from my point of view, I'm “worried” that if I stay up late at night, they'll doze off at school, and that if you don't make a habit of playing after doing homework, they'll get into the habit of being lazy to study for future exams, etc.
From a child's point of view, it may just be that parents are worried without permission, but at least, it is true that it makes parents worry.
The ideal is not to let relatives preach (don't make them worry, not make them feel dissatisfied), but as expected, that is difficult.
Anyway, listen with the intention of calming your own pride and anger, listening peacefully, and gifting time for your relatives.

People who teach themselves are valuable.

I read your question.

You get sick of being preached so often.

When I was young, I had many opportunities to meet various monks, and they often preached.
I was young at the time, too, so most of my feelings were “loud” or “I know.”

However, as they become more and more adults, they don't even give many sermons. Have you grown up for your age? I think there are many reasons why people around me are getting older and older, and they have lost their energy to give sermons, or maybe they have already passed away.
If you don't get preached or warned, it may be fun to be able to do whatever you like freely with it.

However, if you look at it the other way around, it means that you have to take responsibility for everything yourself, make decisions, and live your life. This is a very unsettling and courageous thing. This is because you have to move on with your life without knowing whether what you are doing right or wrong now is right or wrong.

When I think about it, I'm very happy that there are people like that who preach and teach themselves so many things. Even if it's painful right now, when you think again in the future, you'll surely have thoughts such as “that person was right,” “I wish I had listened to more stories,” or “there are no people who worry about me anymore until they get angry or preach about me.”

So, if you switch your mind a bit and think, “It's troublesome, but let's listen to the story for a moment,” there's no doubt that that person's story will be useful for Masashi's future.

Also, when a lot of alcohol comes in, your partner probably lacks calm and sanity, so I think it's a good idea to make a good reason and run away!

I would be grateful if you could use it as a reference.

It's about listening.

If asked, if asked,
I'll talk about it,
As a general rule, preaching is disgusting
I try not to say that.

Remembering those who died at the memorial service,
I'm just going to tell you a short story.

For those who have passed away,
Please live a bright and happy life.
That is the most important memorial service.
So, I'll pay for it.

What is your own way of life
It's up to you to decide.
Things you're interested in or aren't interested in
What I hear endlessly is
It's nothing but a nuisance.

Just saying ignoring it is
It is not suitable for adults.
The heart of caring for the other person,
I wonder if mercy is necessary.

For yourself,
Listen only to the useful part,
All that's left is to listen
I think it's good manners.

Even if it's something you don't mind at that time,
Thank goodness that decades have passed,
It's something you can feel.

In a way that accepts it honestly

When I receive a sermon, I am pressured only by the other person's arguments, and I am not in an environment where I can respond to them.
It's probably not something you've accumulated from receiving sermons like that all the time.

How to deal with sermons.
There is no such manual.
If there were, it would only be for little hands.
It won't make much sense to you.

When preached, a sense of repulsion arises.
There must have been times when they got angry even though they didn't know anything.
There are times when you think about how much you've been able to say.

It's exhausting.
How much easier would it be if you didn't show up on the spot.
However, the way they go out and face that person is wonderful.

First, for that person, you're probably an easy person to talk to.
Hints drawn from my own life experiences.
In other words, they are people who honestly accept their own way of life.
From that point of view, you look like that.

You may be in pain, but the way you accept others is also a time for you to be refined.

For example, let's say you go to a temple and pray.
There, I want to be happy.
Even if that makes others unhappy.

There is no such prayer.
When you make yourself happy, other people must be happy too.

Your actions are not wrong.
It's up to you to decide how you want to do it, but...
I want them to take it honestly.
At least I hope so.
