About pet memorial services

This time, the horse I have supported since the horse racing era and taken in after retirement has been called to heaven at age 26. It was a natural death from old age.

It's called horse ear nembutsu, and it recites the Heart Sutra and the mantra of Bato Kannon. Recently, it is said that there are pet graves, but since they are horses, I disposed of them and left only their manes.

I have an apartment tomb that is popular now, but when I said I wanted to put in my mane, I was turned down. I've heard stories about animals being beastful, leading to the Beast Path in Hell. I've also heard that there are temples that show reluctance.

We had no children, and this child was our only son. There is a funeral business for dogs and cats, and there are festivals, but there are no horses.

Is there no choice but to leave this child alone without a memorial service?
Is there no choice but to do something in my own way?
Please tell me.

Bato Kannon Myoko-in Temple

Tamahime-sama

Thank you for Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

I have an acquaintance at a temple where racehorses and horse-riding horses are also held, and there is a place called Myoko-in in Kobe City.

If you don't mind, please feel free to contact us.

Also, at Josho Temple, there is a pagoda (plant, animal, animal, and animal saam memorial tower) enshrined in the precincts, and ossuary (manes are also allowed) and memorial services are also possible. I can also give you the pagoda.

It's Mie Prefecture, but if you don't mind, go ahead!

Hello Tamahime-sama.

They say they want the tomb and memorial service for their beloved horse.
It's Mie Prefecture, but my temple is fine.

Recently, the number of temples with pet graves has increased, but until now there are many temples that cannot be entered because they are separated from human graves. There are also believers who don't like animals, so there is a traditional way of thinking that animals are inferior to humans as animals, and cemeteries until now do not assume animal ossuaries. Also, most cemeteries prohibit putting bones etc. of animals other than humans into the cemetery rules.

Since I like pets, the cemetery at Kongoza-ji Temple is a with Pet cemetery that I can enter with my owner, and I have agreed that it will be enshrined together with animal pets in the cemetery rules from the beginning.
Also, cemeteries for humans are expensive, starting at 190,000 yen, so pet-only cemeteries also accept burial fees starting at 5,000 yen for joint graves and 30,000 yen for individual pet graves.

As the principal object of the pet memorial service, the small Bato Kannon also holds a memorial service at the guest house.
Originally, Buddhism honors both humans and animals as living the same life. In particular, there is a deep relationship between Buddhism and horses, and as is the case with Bato Kannon, who is important as a Buddhist instrument, also uses horse hair.
Incidentally, I'm C in the year of the horse in Showa 41 (laughs). If horses are also being held at a memorial service, this is my first time at a temple, and I am thankful for that. If you have a relationship, please go ahead and take care of it. Gassho

There is an animal memorial tower.

Tamahime-sama

There is also an animal memorial tower at my place (Akashi, Hyogo).
It's not an individual, it's a joint enactment.
In addition to dogs and cats, small birds and turtles are also included.
So, I think it's possible to pay for a horse's mane.
Please consider it if you like.
I would be grateful if you could take a look at my temple website.

Buddhism has been achieved properly.

It is said that they are reciting the Heart Sutra and the mantra of Bato Kannon,
That means that the memorial service has been fully held.

Even if you don't do a memorial service at a temple
like until now
Why don't you continue the memorial service at home?
