What does it mean to get married to a temple

This is my first time consulting with you.
I have a relationship with a monk from outside the prefecture.
I received a proposal the other day, and I'm thinking about marrying him.
I grew up in an ordinary family, and I don't know anything about temples.
I'm currently a wedding planner.
I would like to continue the hospitality business from now on, but weddings etc. are still on Saturdays and Sundays. If customers come to the museum late, there are also night meetings.
He said he could keep going if he could go home a little earlier
They're saying it to me.
I heard that the parishioners are in 300th place.
I don't even know if there are many.

Other people say you can't work once you get married, right? It is said.

I have to think about getting married in a temple
If there's anything that doesn't work, please let me know.

Various relationships

Nice to meet you, Ryoko!
I'm a monk of the Jodo sect in Hokkaido, thank you for your support.

Things to consider when getting married to a temple.
Yes, if you think about it from someone who has been in a temple since birth, honestly, life is the same as a normal family!
However, along with that, I think there are annual events at the temple, memorial services (memorial services and funerals) using the temple, dealing with visitors to the temple, cleaning, etc.
Temples are not made up of only one monk. It is made up of the cooperation of parishioners, local people, and families.
I think the important thing is to cherish that relationship, and at the same time cooperate with the temple.

Ryoko does a wonderful job as a wedding planner!
The experience I've cultivated through that customer service should be quite useful in the future!! I'm so envious!
There may also be an image that a temple is a place to go after a person has passed away,
I think there are many parishioners who have been involved for generations.
They watch that family from birth to the end and live together, and pass on teachings so that everyone can live better and better together through memorial services and various things. It is a place called a temple that acts like a concierge for a person's life.
By all means, I hope Ryoko makes use of her current experience and makes a wonderful temple where she can build a plan for her life ♪♪

If you're worried about getting married to a temple...

Nice to meet you, Ryoko. I am a deputy chief priest of the Soto sect. My name is Ogurosawa.

There is something I would definitely recommend. If you're worried about getting married to the temple, be sure to talk to the other person's mother or the person behind the scenes.

That's because... what is required of a temple bride is completely different depending on the temple. I can't rely on the book's information. My temple is large, but my mother worked as a teacher until her retirement, and I hear stories about how difficult it is from person to person, but I don't think that's the case for some people.

→Really, it's completely different depending on the temple.

It depends on the temple's mountain breeze, chief priest, family, environment, position, and way of thinking.

It's okay, I'll be able to do something.

My wife and I weren't born and raised in a temple, but we've managed to do it. Salaryman experience is always useful for temple activities.

Also, I would like you to make use of your experience as a wedding planner to spread the word about pre-Buddhist weddings.

The most important thing is between themselves

Nice to meet you, Ryoko.

My wife also grew up in a home (other than a temple)
I was quite worried about getting married in a temple.

But, as the saying goes, “it's easier to give birth than to worry,”
Right now, I'm so familiar that I don't know which one was born in the temple (^^)

well,
“I have to think about getting married in a temple
If there's anything that doesn't work, please let me know. ”
That being said,

The two of us had a lot of discussions,
Respect and understand the other person together,
If the two of them are satisfied and decide,
I don't think there's a better way than that.

Even if you say temple in one word,
It's completely different depending on denomination, region, and scale, so
I think it's important to have a good discussion with him.

As a monk,
People who work like Ryoko
I hope it will give vitality to the temple!

I sincerely wish the two of you a long time of happiness.
