About suicide

I've been thinking about the meaning of being alive since I was in middle school. I think many people think that living a long time is amazing, but recently I don't think so. There are a lot of people who become ugly people as they get older, and it makes me wonder why they are obsessed with living that way.

I think it's easier to die than to live, and I want to end my life before I get hurt before I know the dirt in the world as much as possible, before I become like the people listed above, and I think the most wonderful thing is to die by one's own hands without longevity or illness.
There were many people who committed suicide who had poor mental strength, but don't you think it's natural to want to end a life born out of someone else's will?

I think it's a poor sentence and difficult to read, but I thought I could only ask questions in a place like this, so I'd like you to share your various thoughts.

In Buddha's words about living a long time

I'm not an “elder” just because my hair has turned white. If they just get old, they are called “empty old people.” Dhammapada 260

People who are sincere, have virtue, are compassionate, do nothing wrong, take care of themselves, remove dirt, and are careful are called “elders.” Dhammapada 261

There is such a thing. Buddhism preaches the inevitable suffering that Buddhism preaches, and there is a great deal of suffering. This is suffering due to active mental and physical functions, but as you said, it is also something that “thrives more and more when you get old.”
Not only when you're childish and young, but also not being able to leave your “obsession” even after getting older is probably an issue for all people.

well,

> Isn't it easier to die than to live

That's it. Certainly, there is a cruel side to this world, and there are situations in reality where one cannot help but think so. However, there is a difference between “ease” and “happiness.” There are also people who choose death in search of “ease” to be freed from the reality of unbearable suffering, but it is difficult to say whether they were really happy or not.

I don't take that for granted. But if you think so, I'm not denying it. Similarly, you must acknowledge that others don't “take it for granted.”
I don't know what kind of circumstances and thoughts led you to think so, but if you were born into a wealthy family, have many friends, a lover you love, and have dreams for the future... then would you have thought the same way?
If not, it means that your thoughts above are influenced by “conditions or circumstances,” or in Buddhism, “relationships,” in other words, “truth.”
“Truth” refers to a universal principle that applies to any person. The Buddha explained that this world is “all suffering,” and on top of that, he explained that there is a way to destroy suffering.

Where is that truth? It's working in your life too. Regardless of what you think, life doesn't rest on breathing, digestion, or cell division. I want to live, I want to live.
I think there is truth in that voice of life.

lotus flower

This site is called Hasunoha, and the lotus flower is a symbol of Buddhism.
This is because lotus flowers bloom beautifully and cleanly in muddy swamps.
I hope that you, like a lotus flower, will continue to bloom beautifully and cleanly even in this murky world with wisdom and mercy.

Thinking about reincarnation

Dear Mary

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

In Buddhism, since we think about reincarnation, we are dealing with things that are connected from past lives, to the present, and to the next.

What is connected is a fine continuum of mind and consciousness that is not greatly influenced by the body or matter, and it means that each state of karma and karma in that mind and consciousness also determines where each one goes.

Well, whether you live a long time or not, you will die right now, but as long as your mind is controlled by ignorance (fundamental ignorance), bad work due to worry, and karma, it means that in any case, you will reincarnate without change, and you will lose your way and suffer.

Buddhism aims to change the causal relationship (cause and condition) of reincarnation leading to that bad destination by learning and practicing Buddhism, and change it to a good cause relationship, and strive towards enlightenment, which is a relief from reincarnation as a good result.

If possible, now is a rare and precious stage where you can learn and practice Buddhism, and I would like to firmly use Buddhism to change bad causes into good ones as much as possible.

It's like losing that opportunity yourself, such as suicide. It really is a waste.

Anyway, I definitely want to cherish life and continue to learn and practice Buddhism for a good future.

Let's work hard together.

I'm not bound by human thoughts that are strange ♡

That kind of thinking is a bit biased way of looking at things in my own opinion ♡
If it's an accurate argument, that opinion was adopted on TV and media, and they said, “Yeah, that's right! ・It's the truth! ・Like・Nice!” The great spread of.
However, that's not the case, due to the reality of the world.
That's not why we shouldn't have that kind of theory. A theory where such expressions only hold true and no one actually uses them is a theory that cannot be a common truth for all humankind.
Certainly, when I'm sick and having a hard time, I often get the feeling that it's easier to die 💀. But just because that kind of thought came through, everything that came to mind was realized by clicking on the file and expanding the theory, and once it was realized, the whole world would seem like a heck of a mess.
So, think of it this way.
“Humans genuinely think things that aren't good or bad.”
The fact that “I thought about it, thought about it, came up with such a strange thought” is not wrong in itself. My head is a field of flowers every day. Thoughts are things my brain thought of without permission. Depending on how they are used, such ideas can also be used as novels, dramas, and works to generate sympathy, so it's not a bad thing.
But, but.
You must have been breathing as you read this lengthy sentence. Was that breath you meant to do?
If that is the case, let's fully agree with your opinion and spread the share to create a suicide cult in this world.
However, this breathing must have worked completely unrelated to your intentions or your thoughts. “It has nothing to do with human thought.” This is the key word that will save you.
I must have lived a carefree and happy life without thinking about such dark things until I was heartbroken when I saw Jisamaba-sama, who had a very bare ego.
There are also people who look at Ji-san and Ba-san and think, oh, that's going to be tough, and that I want to help them with nursing care. There are also people who have doubts about old age, like the young Buddha, me, and you. What matters is where you take advantage of that as an opportunity to go.
There are no good or bad things, and they have nothing to do with human thoughts and ways of thinking.
In order for you to be happy, you have the happiness of being bound by the thoughts of the person within you, abandoning choosing suicide, and being free from thoughts themselves. Please ask for that.
