I'm worried about the monk's life.

The image of me is reciting sutras at a monk's funeral, practicing in front of the Buddha, doing waterfall work, and zazen meditation. Do you do this every day?

1. Do monks exercise?
2. Do monks purr in their spare time?
3. Do monks do shopping at supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.?
4. Does the monk have a driver's license?
5. Do you cook your own food?

I'm worried about a lot of things, so I asked questions.

This is the case of Fallen Hospital.

Sutra readings, waterfall exercises, and zazen meditation are very important, but they are not all Buddhist practices.
For example, Shinran, the founder of the Jodo Shinshu sect, had an identity that he was not a saint or a layman, but a [non-monk] who lived the same life as a layman in the secular world even though he had a sense of bodhisattva. Well, at the time, Shinran was a super rare new type.

There are a lot of boys too.

I think the bottom line is that no matter where you go, no matter what circumstances you are in, keep your Bodhi heart firmly within and walk the Bodhisattva path as far as you go.

1. I'm not exercising in particular. We're all addicted to muscle exercises that we've been doing at NHK recently.
2. In my free time, I watch TV and the internet.
3. Nowadays, donations are mostly money, so I buy what I need for my daily life.
4. I have a driver's license. It's a rural area, so it's inconvenient if you don't have a car.
5. My wife makes most of them. Sometimes I make my own.

What I do every day is chant namuamidabu and nembutsu. Anyone can do it anytime, anywhere.
Namu Amidabu
Namu Amidabu...

Going to the waterfall is a misunderstanding and prejudice. Have you ever seen a temple with a waterfall for getting hit in the first place? It's not there, is it We don't even have funerals every day. I spend most of my time at temples.

I'm exercising. I was told to exercise during the medical examination, so I'm careful to move my body. I really don't want to be away from the temple, though.
Are you purring? I take a nap when I'm tired, and lie down when I'm not feeling well, but in my free time, I write answers in hasunoha, so I don't have much “free time.” I don't watch much TV, and I don't play games at all, so I'm not blessed with a chance to purr (laughs).
I'll do the shopping. I love drugstores and home centers. I'm going out with my work clothes on. It's conspicuous.
I have a driver's license. Incidentally, the car is a Suzuki “Hustler” (light vehicle).
Most of the food is prepared by the housekeeper, but when there are no family members, I do it myself. There are times when we eat out. I'm going to ride a Suzuki Hustler and go in work clothes.

I'll apologize first hahahahah

I'm also curious about the lives of monks from other denominations, so I was curious and read the answers from other monks. I think it depends on the denomination and the temple you work for.
For the time being, in my case right now, it's too vulgar and not interesting,

1. Do monks exercise?

I will exercise. I go to the gym, and I also play futsal and baseball. I used to like bowling too.

2. Do monks purr in their spare time?

I'm excited and purring while watching “Saigo Don,” which is being recorded.

3. Do monks do shopping at supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.?

It's amazing. I went shopping for sweets with my kids. I'm indebted to Seven Eleven's coffee.

4. Does the monk have a driver's license?

I have it. I almost always go by car to pray. I wonder if all of you have them.

5. Do you cook your own food?

My wife makes the food for me. Sometimes I make my own. Incidentally, in the case of the Jodo Shinshu sect, it is a sect where you can eat anything, so they also eat meat and fish.

The image of a monk may have been destroyed, but I think this is normal in the case of a Jodo Shinshu monk. I think monks from other denominations live their lives according to a more stoic image.

Incidentally, when I used to be at a big temple, the time of detention was like that of a black company, from early morning until late at night. I didn't have time to do cleaning, practice gagaku, etc., and purr.
I slept like mud on my days off.

I'm really sorry for not being able to meet your expectations.

I'm fine around here tonight. chest!

Characteristics of Japanese monks!

Hello Leon McKee.

Since Japanese monks do not receive the Hioka precepts, they mainly discipline themselves with the Bodhisattva precepts, so it is a way for each monk to live.

It's me,
1. Do monks exercise?
I will do it. I was playing Shorinji Kenpo until a while ago. Right now, organizing exercises are the main thing.
2. Do monks purr in their spare time?
When I have free time, I sometimes purr.
3. Do monks do shopping at supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.?
I go to convenience stores every day
4. Does the monk have a driver's license?
I have a license for ordinary cars, large cars, and medium motorcycles.
5. Do you cook your own food?
I'm currently making my own.
