For some reason I can't decide on one, but...

I was depressed and anxious about the future due to my divorce, but I was saved by a program called Morning Sermon and became interested in Buddhism, and I went to a temple every week to do various things, such as doing zazen meditation for a year, going to Goma Falls, chanting sutras, and copying sutras. However, I had a bit of a question here, but in Taki and Goma, the Shingon sect zazen is different from the Soto sect Rinzai sect, and there are about 7 temples going round and round. (My hometown Ome has so many old temples) Maybe I like Buddhism, love temples, and I'm curious, so I can't decide on one. However, looking back on the past year, there have been many abuses, etc., but where have I really been in a deep relationship with? Which denomination's teachings are your own? I had a lot of questions about myself, etc. Why did everyone decide on a denomination? I'm Meeha Why Kukai and the movie Zen put particular emphasis on these two sects. Also, the chief priest doesn't take good care of people who go here and there like this, do they? They haven't said anything

Ladders OK (I think...)

Matsu-kun.
My name is Tetsuya Urakami from Nagomi-an, thank you for your support.

The TV you were watching is probably TV Asahi's “Today's Sermon” section. Masuda Toshiyasu, Wada Takayoshi, Nishihara Tatsuya, and I appeared in Hasunoha, but unfortunately the program ended in September this year.
If it were this program, I am very happy that young people in their 30s watched it, saved their feelings even a little, and became interested in Buddhism.

Now, they say “I can't decide on one thing,” but I don't think there's any particular problem. Although the denominations are different, I was able to encounter something attractive called “Buddhism,” so I think it would be nice to have a variety of experiences across temples and denominations.

My parents' house is an ordinary family, but my relatives are at a Jodo Shinshu temple, and I became a monk because of that.
However, when I have the opportunity, I learn the doctrines of other denominations and experience ascetic practices. For example, I think I care about Japan, where my permanent domicile is, but I'm interested in various countries and would like to travel. Recently, I have come to understand the appeal and way of thinking of each denomination.

Wouldn't it be nice to go around 7 temples? I think the chief priests of each temple also look more favourably on enthusiastic people like Matsu-kun than those who have no interest in Buddhism.

I think it would be nice if it would lead to a relationship where you meet something that serves as a base ◎

I also love temples, and I'm also attracted to historic buildings such as castles.
It transcends time, and I feel the great power and deep feelings that exist there, and it doesn't matter what sect or what faction it is, it makes me feel somewhat thrilled and strangely calm.

However, I have a feeling that the more I learn and deepen about various forms of Buddhism, the more I will be saved. Whether I ask for it or not, what I can see is my deep darkness.
Monks will also learn from other denominations. Of course, that's true for me, and it's important too. I think this is to know where I stand and which way I am moving by looking at the whole thing.
Every teaching is excellent, and there are no mistakes.
But I think it would be nice if it led to a relationship where you meet something you really base rather than a form of uniform faith over all kinds of things ◎

The Eighty-Four Thousand Dharma

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

Even in my humble life, I am working diligently to advance learning Buddhism as comprehensively as possible without trying to grasp Buddhism by dividing it into religious denominations.

It is said that they like Buddhism and temples, and they are truly precious and thankful.

While many things have been learned and experienced over the past year, of course, I know that it doesn't matter at all if you still can't decide on one.

Anyway, it is said that the Buddha's teachings were explained with ingenious convenience in response to people's hesitation and suffering, as compared to the fact that there are 84,000 Dharma gates. If there were exactly 6 billion people, there would be 6 billion ways of lost and suffering, and it would not be strange if there were teachings corresponding to them.

Among them, there are teachings that are suitable for Matsu-kun, and there may also be teachings that are not suitable, and depending on the time of year, environment, state of mind, progress in learning, etc., I think things that fit and don't suit will come out.

Therefore, I think it would be nice to first learn what kind of teachings there are, comprehensively learn the teachings of each religious denomination, and then find teachings that suit you, and I also think it would be good to think about “Buddha relationships” one by one after cherishing them.

Also, in the future, I know that it would be extremely good if people were to learn and walk through Buddhism not only for the sake of dealing with their own hesitation and suffering, but also for many other people who are in trouble.

Thank you... the Ten Good Commandments are difficult to keep, but it is more important than anything else to make an effort to keep them without giving up anyway. Of course, there's still a long way to go. Anyway, I want to make steady adjustments so that I can put into practice the two ways of good deeds that are not bothersome to others and good deeds that are useful and benefit others. By all means, let's work hard together.

There is no benefit in the end even if you do this and that (really)

Do you think that “what will happen” to you in the end as a result of seeking this or that in the Buddhist industry is the completion of Buddhism?
A I wonder if I can do zazen for a long time,
I wonder if I can stay calm after being hit by Falls B,
Is it about transcribing the C sutras cleanly without making mistakes word for word,
I wonder if I recite sutras D and take advantage of it.
If you stay the way you are now, you'll probably end up doing all of them just by becoming ❝ good ❞ at them. Apart from that, there are no black belts or ranks.

※SUPER IMPORTANT※
※I think you've probably misunderstood that practicing Buddhism means chanting sutras, copying sutras, ascetic practice, zazen, etc. ❝ doing something similar to Buddhist ascetic practice ❞ ※.

Many ordinary people, mass media, and even monks think that Buddhism means performing ◎ ◎ practices such as nembutsu, shakyo, zazen, etc., but this is actually not the case.
Actually, if you keep misunderstanding something, no matter what you do, everything will be a mistake.
I've introduced it before, but as soon as I came back from the pilgrimage, I was frustrated as soon as I came back from the couple fight, zazen, and shakai, so what is the purpose of Buddhist training?

Dogen, a famous monk from the Kamakura period, said, “To walk along the Buddha is to bow to oneself; to parse oneself is to express oneself, and to express oneself is to drop out with one's mind and body and one's own mind and body.”
In simple terms, it is explained that “Buddhism is a path that unites the self, a path that focuses on forgetting oneself and integrating oneself equally with the world” (translation).

To put it more simply, “Buddhism, which is the way to refine yourself, is a world where you can do all your self-consciousness and be given enlightenment not from your side, but from the outside of the facts in front of you.”
For this reason, Buddhism is not a ❝ but a sign of ❞.
It's a ❞ path that makes you work actively on a daily basis, your self-confidence, lowers your concentration, doesn't carry yourself, and makes you ❝ enlighten yourself from the outside.
If you keep this in mind, no matter what you do, Bodhi will surely be fulfilled.
Many people have misunderstood this point, so I dared to answer it late. (^o^)
