I want to study Buddhism.

How is it common to learn Buddhism?

I've read dozens of books, but with words alone, I don't really feel like I've learned Buddhism.

I want to incorporate Buddhism into my life.

I've been to a temple and heard the Dharma, but other than that, I don't know how to get involved with monks.

What should I do to learn about Buddhism in a systematic way?

You can learn by distance learning

I am a temple chief priest of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji school (Nishi Honganji), so I'll tell you about my sect.

I think it would be a good idea to take a distance education course at a school called Central Buddhist Academy in Kyoto. You can learn systematically, and it's not self-study, and the teacher corrects assignments and guides you. I think this is a good point.

However, it also costs money, so if there seems to be a problem with that, there are many good sites, even on the internet. However, I think what I want is to have someone teach me as described above, so I recommended distance education at the Central Buddhist Academy.

Meditation for example

For example, there is an explanation of Vipassana meditation and mercy meditation on the website of the Japan Terawada Buddhist Association.
Why don't you try it?

Why don't you visit a nearby temple?

Listen, Think, and Osamu

The basic principles of Buddhist practice are listening, thinking, and practicing.

Listening means listening to the teacher's teachings. Of course, even if it's not directly, you can also learn from papers etc. where the pioneers explain it.

Thinking is to repeatedly think and deeply understand what you have been taught.

In training, you will actually practice the content you have deeply understood and make it your own.

If you want to learn Buddhism in a general and systematic way, how about being a member of society gradually taking courses at Nakamura Former Oriental Institute and Oriental Gakuin from the field you are interested in?

Alternatively, there is a place called Tokyo International Buddhist School by communication.
