In Buddhism, there is a term called impermanent behavior. It is understood in the sense that it doesn't work well, but the original meaning is “everything in this world continues to change moment by moment while influencing each other.” In other words, there are countless relationships involved in every event in this world, so it can be expressed that it is not a simple world where things go the way you want after making an effort. That means that not everything goes the way individuals want, whether the cat has left or not come back.

Since complex factors (relationships) are intertwined, humans cannot originally understand what and how to work well. But if you don't do anything, nothing will start. You can always do it with your own efforts. In that sense, “doing your best and waiting for destiny” would mean making an effort but not being bound by results.

Furthermore, it can also be said that no one knows how happy cats are. The reason cats run away and don't come back may be because they are getting food. When I looked it up on the internet, I saw a lot of information that raised anxiety, but since they were properly fed somewhere, I think it's conceivable that they won't come back.
