I don't want to work part-time

I'm a college student, and I don't want to work part-time because my hands are full of school.
However, I want transportation expenses, companionship expenses, and money to do things I like and buy things.
My family tells me to work part-time if they want money, but just thinking that I have to work part-time becomes difficult and depressing.
Do you have any good ideas?

It's not there.

It's easier to give birth than to worry

Thank you for your question.
I think part-time work is also an important experience. Eventually, after graduation, you'll be working every day, so be sure to do a part-time job as a mental preparation before that. First of all, content that isn't physically demanding is fine for about 2 hours 1 to 2 days a week. There may be few part-time jobs now due to COVID-19.
If you work part-time, the way you look at money and your values may change.
It's depressing to think about it. In such a case, you should do it before you think about it.
There's also a saying that it's easier to give birth than to worry.

Let's get a scholarship, but it's hard to return it

When I was in my first year of college, I didn't do much part-time work. For that reason, I lived in a poor student dormitory with a room fee of 1700 yen, cut down on meals, didn't buy new clothes, and put up with entertainment. My parents gave it to me about the main one. At that time, I was thankful for the scholarship from the Japan Scholarship Association. However, after graduation, I paid back for ten years. Scholarships with salaries that are not obligated to be refunded are quite limited, and loan scholarships are debts. However, scholarships are also one way to avoid a decrease in study time due to part-time work.

I have three kids. I'm relieved that my three children have somehow graduated from college, but it was hard to save the entrance fees and tuition fees. I think working part-time and actually experiencing how difficult it is to get rewards and how difficult it is to save money is also a good study.

Let's rely on the Student Support Division

Hello Hokke-san, thank you for writing.

Hokke is busy with school and doesn't want to work part-time right now. However, I want money to buy transportation expenses, companionship expenses, and things I like.

My family told me to work part-time if I wanted money, but it's a question of whether I have to work part-time.

That's how I heard Hokke's words.

First of all, Hokke is amazing. When they want money or don't want to work part-time, there are more than a few students who choose various suspicious solicitations or actions that touch the law as options, yet they are worried about whether or not they should work part-time, and I think Hokke is wonderful at that point.

Now, I think the feeling that you don't want to have as much impact on your classes and school life as possible, and that you don't want to work part-time is important. Everyone's life is different, but there are also people in the world who wake up to the fun of part-time work and don't know whether part-time work or schoolwork is the main thing.

I think you should consider a path that is not the case even when considering a part-time job.

I'll tell you the simplest solution. I'm going to ask university teachers and the Student Support Division (the name may differ depending on the university, but it's a department about student life for students attending university) who are involved with Hokke. I can't say that's necessarily the case, but if it's a part-time job that is officially approved on campus or by a university, I don't think it will have an impact on your studies. Also, I'm sure you can hope for help searching for things that are hard to influence.

On top of that, if there's something you think is good, you should try it. What do you think, Hokke-san?

Choose between the two

The feeling that I don't want to work part-time
Isn't it the feeling that I want money
Which one is bigger?

For those who feel big
There is no choice but to obey.
