About the memorial service on the 49th and the real 49th

My father passed away, and I finished the memorial service on the 49th the other day, but the day the memorial service on the 49th was the 46th day since he passed away, and it wasn't actually the 49th day. So,
① When was my father in the Other World (Paradise Pure Land?) Are you aiming for it?
② Is it better to do offerings until the real 49th?
③ Is it OK to make offerings and talk even after the real 49 days have passed?

Good evening.
I would like to express my condolences to your father for passing away.

It is said that those who have died will be reincarnated into something else 49 days later.
When it comes to how they spend their 49 days after death, it seems that they receive something like a trial every 7 days, and the place of reincarnation is decided on the 7th trial, that is, on the 49th day.
That trial was about the bereaved family (die and yatter! It seems that they are also subject to examination (whether memorial services such as the 49th are proper), etc. are also subject to examination. Modern people are busy, so even if it's not the proper 49th day, it's fine if you're doing a memorial service.

I think the funeral was held when my father passed away, but the funeral is a ceremony where the deceased father becomes a disciple of the Buddha. Therefore, 49 days after his father passed away, he will surely have been reborn into the Buddha's World (Pure Land of Paradise).

I'm going to proceed with the story on the premise that
① At what timing will my father aim for the other world (Pure Land of Paradise)?
You can think that when you pass away, you will arrive on the 49th aiming for the Buddha's world (Pure Land of Paradise).

② Is it better to do offerings until the real 49th?
As for “Akazari” until the 49th, I think it's okay to clean up after finishing the memorial service on the 49th (let's continue offering and praying to the Buddhist altar), but if you are concerned, you can continue until the official 49th.
③ Is it OK to make offerings and talk even after the real 49 days have passed?
Please always make offerings to Buddhist altars from now on. As far as you can, that's fine. The father is supposed to have been reborn into the world of the Buddha, so I think it's okay to think that communication is possible at any time through plates and graves. The plates and graves are like telephones leading to the world of the Buddha. Please talk to me.

These are my thoughts, but I think the way of thinking differs depending on the denomination and the monk, so please ask the Bodhi monk about it.

I think 49 days is a preparation period for going to the Buddhist world

In Buddhism, the period from birth to death and being born again in the next life is divided into 4 periods. This is called “four (four)”.
The state we are living in is called true (true). Also, the state at the moment when life runs out — the end of your life — is called death (death). After that, it is thought that we will be in an intermediate state where we are neither people in this world nor people in the other world. This state is called middle (medium) or middle yin (middle yin). Also, it is said that the middle period is 49 days. This is said to have originated from India's traditional view of spirits.

I have a question,
①, I think it's been 49 days since you passed away.

②, memorial services at temples often cannot be held on the actual 49th day due to circumstances on the temple side or the circumstances of the client or relatives. However, I think it's better on the 49th day to hand incense to the Chuyin Temple or Buddhist Altar at home and offer spiritual meals and offerings.

③ I think it would be good to work for 49 days as a way to speak to the deceased in the middle condition. After the 49th, I think it would be nice if I spoke to the deceased as support for the deceased who went to the Buddhist world and are devoting themselves as Buddha disciples.

There are different interpretations depending on the denomination, so be sure to ask the chief priest of the family temple.

incidentally
If it's the Jodo Shinshu
I will explain that they will pass away immediately after passing away.

Due to the convenience of people praying
The date of the memorial service is sometimes brought forward
There are times when I go back to work on an official day with just my family.

The significance of the chin-in memorial service

Aoko sama

The answers have already been exhausted, but...

After death, people move on to the next life according to karma (karma) including past and present lives.

The period leading up to the next life is called the middle shadow, and it is said that the longest period is 49 days in units of Earth time.

This middle and dark space is extremely unstable, and in particular, it is a place where it is swept away by the power of karma.

Incidentally, the consciousness between being in the middle is different from this rough level of consciousness in our everyday lives, and it is a very fine consciousness that connects reincarnation.

A memorial service (wake, funeral, memorial service) is performed in order to adjust the state of work in that minute consciousness for a better destination.

What is particularly important is to spin a Buddhist relationship and be reincarnated into the Buddhist world, in other words, in a world and realm where you can walk the Buddha's path.

If this is effective in wake ceremonies, funerals, and midday memorial services, it will give the deceased a very good destination, but the problem is not only that, but after all, the deeds of those who have passed away during their lifetime, their work, merits, Buddhist relationships, etc. in past lives have great power.

The deeds of those who have passed away during their lifetime, and the power of their past lives, such as karma, merits, and Buddhist relationships, etc. are 70%.

The power of memorial services such as vigils, funerals, memorial services for the middle of the year, memorial services for the remembrance, etc. is 30%.

Will that be the case?

Of course, even within 30%, the effects of spinning a Buddhist connection and delivering merit are a big part of the power for that person to go well in the future, so it's not a complete waste either.

① When was my father in the Other World (Paradise Pure Land?) Are you aiming for it?
→ If the cause and effect of heading to the Pure Land is in order, it may be possible right after death, but heading to another destination may also depend on the causal relationship.

② Is it better to do offerings until the real 49th?
→ You don't have to force yourself to offer something. The essence of the memorial service is to send merit in particular, so just being reported each time that something good has been done has that effect. It doesn't matter if you just saved a bug's life a little bit.

③ Is it OK to make offerings and talk even after the real 49 days have passed?
→Same as above.
