Amitabha and Jesus? Amitabha's way of believing.

They are interested in Buddhism, especially the Jodo Shinshu sect, but the questions of “what is Amida Nyorai” and “what does it mean to believe (Amida Buddha)” were unresolved, and as I looked it up, I came across sentences like this.

〈The devotion recommended by Shinran Shonin does not mean “not doubting assumptions,” but it means “having no doubts and devotion.” “Undoubting” means “becoming clear.”
Then, when it comes to what will be revealed, when I touch the relationship, my dangerous phase of myself, where I don't know which way I'm going, becomes clear, and the sure heart of Amida Nyorai, who holds me tightly, saying, “No matter which way you fall, I won't leave you alone,” becomes clear.〉

I've heard that Amitabha is not an absolute god (creator god) in other religions, but when I read these sentences, I feel that there are probably such elements. If you replace the Amitabha Buddha quoted above with Jesus, wouldn't it just be Christianity?

I think Buddhism is an extremely rational religion that doesn't judge metaphysical matters, as Buddha preached, but do the monks of the Pure Land Shinshu believe in Amida Buddha as they believe in Jesus who is always by their side? If not, in what form do you believe in Amitabha?

I'm very sorry that this was an impolite way to ask questions, but I would be happy if you could answer them. Thank you for your support.

Labor and welfare, not the prime minister

Shinran Shonin definitely doesn't look at himself.
It's an ordinary man's point of view.
There may also be teachings that sanctify the principal image and deify oneself, but this is not the case with the Jodo Shinshu sect.

I think there are scholars who respect Amida Nyorai as omniscient and omniscient according to the logic that the reincarnation of Dainichi Nyorai is Amida Nyorai, but I still haven't reached that state.

If I don't reduce my weight to zero through hearings, it doesn't mean that I can't benefit from the merits of Nyorai.
Practicing zero weight is extremely difficult when considering who guarantees the awareness that weight is zero.

Dainichi Buddha may have the same function as Amida Buddha, but I don't think Amida Buddha is in a position to take the place of Dainichi Nyorai.

I think the way Amida Nyorai is served will change depending on the era and school of thought, but I am convinced of the position of Amida Nyorai in the mandala.
The function of Amida Nyorai is like logistical support, safety net, coach, supporter, coach, or doctor.

I don't know much about Christian studies, so sorry for the biased answer.
My impression is that Christianity is not a teaching where a stray lamb becomes a god, but a teaching about being called by God. Buddhism teaches that sentient beings become Buddhas. I understand that there is also a difference.

In terms of Japan's structure, I understand that Amida Nyorai is in a position like Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare rather than the Prime Minister.
(I wonder if the person in charge of medical care is Yakushi Nyorai and the person in charge of welfare is Amida Nyorai?)

Incidentally, if you are interested in the Jodo Shinshu sect, I would appreciate it if you took a look at the website of the Federation of True Religious Groups.
It claims to contribute to the eternal welfare of mankind as a purpose set out in the Charter.

I'm sorry for saying it so bluntly, but I expressed my personal impressions.

In the Jodo Shinshu sect, sentient beings have no weight to believe

Hello.

There was a connection with the Jodo Shinshu sect, wasn't it?
It's a pleasure.
I hope it helps you, and I will answer.

In the first place, I feel a sense of incongruity with the expression “how to believe in Amitabha” itself.

This is because it sounds like a nuance where I, as a sentient being, have the choice of believing and not believing. In other words, I feel as if there is room for me to search for and devise a “person” law that I “believe in.”

Simply put, it does not mean that people who are sentient beings can “believe” or gain faith by trying to “believe.” It's just through hearings. In other words, since Amida's Buddha heart directly reaches sentient beings through the ear, the Buddha's heart simply becomes the devotion of sentient beings as it is. There is absolutely no need for sentient beings to act there. You can see that even in this sense, it's not a “way to believe.”

The question of devotion is central to the Jodo Shinshu sect.
It's something you won't understand overnight, so I recommend hearing, hearing, and hearing again.

Also, regarding similarities with Christianity, I studied this during my graduate school days. In conclusion, although it is similar to Protestantism, it is still different.

As mentioned earlier, there is no weight to believe in sentient beings in the Jodo Shinshu sect. If I had to say it, the weight is on the side of Amida, who makes me believe. Meanwhile, in Christianity, weight ultimately remains in the decisions of believers. I think this is definitely different.

Nembutsu alone is OK (successful life)

In the Jodo sect, the set includes nembutsu, which refers to Namu Amida Buddha by mouth, and worship of Amida Buddha.
Nembutsu alone is OK, and my way of life with nembutsu is a passing life, so I feel safe every time I do nembutsu.
I'm not familiar with Christianity, so I don't know how Christians should live in their daily lives, but in the Jodo sect, there is an easy-to-understand answer that it's OK as long as they have nembutsu.
For example, I don't know the scientific answer whether brain death is a person's death.
However, when transplanting an organ, it is OK to legally regard brain death as human death.
I can't prove whether the Pure Land of Paradise really exists or whether people can pass away with nembutsu.
However, according to the rules of a human group called the Jodo sect, confirmation and consensus building has been completed that “only Nembutsu is OK.”
This is one reassuring material, isn't it?

What is “faith” in Buddhism

Furashinasama

Buddhism is basically a “self-illuminating method,” and the foundation is a “law,” that is, “Buddhism,” to cleanly adjust one's own “work” and that “work.”

That “Buddhism” has been clarified, and it is Nyorai that has the function of saving sentient beings.

So, if I were to say what “faith” is in Buddhism, it means “convinced” of the cause and effect of good cause and effect based on Buddhism, and then smoothly adjust one's own work.

Based on the above, the next thing called “what is Amida Nyorai” is a nyorai introduced by Shakyamuni as one of the guides for sentient beings after himself (who can be entrusted with seeing the Buddha and enshrining), and it is a Buddha who opened up the Pure Land of Paradise through strict Bodhisattva training.

When it comes to “what does believing (Amida Buddha) mean,” it means “confidence” as being one of the thankful Buddha members to smoothly regulate one's work by forming a Buddha relationship with Amida Nyorai in order to receive “seeing and enshrining,” which is a condition for advancing Buddhism forward, to go to the world of paradise, receive guidance from ascetic practices, and manage one's own work cleanly.

In the Amitabha Sutra, it is clearly written that “those who have few good roots cannot pass away in the Pure Land of Paradise.” Amida Nyorai has Buddhism in order to steadily and cleanly regulate one's work, and those who want to pass away in the Pure Land of Paradise want to adjust their good roots, strengthen their Buddha relationship with Amida Nyorai, and pass away so that they can pass away.
