I know it's not suitable

It's my first time, and thank you for your support.

It's going to be a problem at work.
Three years have passed since I became a dentist, and I continue to struggle that this job isn't right for me.
My hands are clumsy, I'm not good at dealing with people, I can't properly receive complaints from patients, and I can't care.
Even if you're careful, you'll make the same mistakes over and over again, and make the same mistakes.
I did it because I wasn't good at thinking for myself and didn't have the habit of doing self-analysis, but it didn't work.
Maybe it's because I don't have any physical strength, I feel limp after medical treatment is over, I don't have the energy to practice or study, my consciousness is low, and I'm unmotivated.

I was late at work, and the relationship with the staff broke down because they were warned too much about the same thing.

Furthermore, my salary has also been cut by one-third.

It's not a job that can be eaten up, so I want to get by somehow, and since my mother is looking forward to starting the business, I've only caused trouble and worry until now, so I want to meet my expectations, but that is also becoming painful.

I think it's probably a reward for avoiding painful things, things I'm not good at, and dealing with people until now, but it's painful for my body and mind.

Jobs that aren't suited are hard

I feel that even if you continue to do a job that isn't right for you, your place of work, or your patients, you won't be happy.
Obsessions cause trouble and suffering, so why don't you let go of your obsession and think about it?
There are always jobs that even you can do.

Live the way you are

How many people spend their time unaware that they are “not suited” in the world... I think it's amazing that you're facing yourself because you're in it.
From now on, for now, I'm asking myself, “What am I suited for?” Why don't you think carefully about “what you want to do” and try it out? I think it will probably be a fun time for you. Fortunately, now, DX technology has developed, and we are now in an age where side jobs can be done with high productivity using generative AI and smartphones. There are so many people who work part-time, monks themselves, and I also have a lot of side jobs. I would like to remind you that you yourself can “live in the present just the way you are.” Gassho 🙏

Live your own life

I think it's a very difficult situation to hear that you are struggling with your job as a dentist.

First, when it comes to technical issues, why not focus on small daily improvements rather than aiming for perfection? When you fail, it's important to calmly look back on what caused it and make an effort to make the most of it next.

To improve interpersonal relationships, it is important to think from the other person's point of view. When you have trouble communicating with patients and staff, imagine “How does this person feel?” Also, it's a good idea to take notes on the patient's characteristics.

The reason the motivation for self-improvement is declining may be because interest in work is waning. If you also look at the surrounding fields of dental care, new interests may sprout. As you learn little by little, you will also be proud of your work.

To improve your work environment, start by reviewing your own words and actions. By keeping in mind words and actions that take into account the other person's feelings, the relationship should improve little by little. Regarding salary cuts, it is also a good idea to ask your boss specifically about the conditions for improvements.

Finally, regarding the gap between mother's expectations and reality, this is a very difficult issue. But ultimately, it's up to you to live your own life. Whether you continue to work or choose a new path, I'm sure your mother's true wish is for you to be happy and healthy.

If you really don't feel like this job is right for you, changing jobs is one option. There is also a possibility that your life will open up by taking on challenges in new fields. As a result, showing how to live in your own way while apologizing for not being able to meet expectations will also reassure the mother.

Whatever choices you make, it's important to think about your life from a long-term perspective. It may be difficult right now, but there will definitely be a way out. I sincerely wish you happiness.
