Family name change due to marriage
I'm thinking about enrolling by the end of the year.
As we discuss the future, of course, I'm confused because it seems like they were thinking about going to get married.
My boyfriend is my eldest son, and my only older sister is already married. Meanwhile, I'm the second daughter of 2 sisters, and my older sister is unmarried.
My boyfriend is always kind and caring, but since he's the eldest son, it's natural for him to get married, and he told me that since I'm the second daughter, there's no problem coming to get married, and I was really surprised, and it made me feel somewhat sad.
It may still be common for women to change their surnames, but I love my family, and I didn't want to change the surname I had a fondness for.
I've heard that my grandmother also got a son-in-law.
My boyfriend's parents are also very kind, and I don't think there's any inconvenience in going to get married, but is it just plain selfish that I don't want to change my last name?
Whether it's the eldest son or the second daughter, the feeling that I don't want to change my last name is the same, and I don't think there are any priorities. I want the world to change where going to get married is commonplace.
I have to decide on one or the other, so if by any chance I have to change my last name, I'm worried about whether I'll be completely convinced and whether something that has stuck in my heart will remain.
I think it's just my last name, so I think too much about it.
I'm lonely because I feel like my family is getting farther away.
