Which sect of Buddhism suits you

While I was looking for guidelines for living, I began to think that Buddhism might be right for me.

There is also the fact that the university is Christian, so I looked up not only Christian denominations, but also Islam and Shinto, but I have the impression that it is different from my own way of thinking.

I agree with the diligence of Protestants, which is a denomination of Christianity, and the coexistence and free service of Christianity as a whole, but since there are parts where humans have superiority over nature, it can be used as a research subject, but it is not suitable as a guideline for living.

There was also such a path, and emphasis came to be placed on Buddhism. So, I'm looking into Buddhist sects. As for each denomination I have, I agree that there are various practices of the Hosso sect, but I get the violent impression that “the things in this world were created by myself,” and I have the impression that the Nichiren sect, Esoteric Buddhism, the Jodo Shinshu, and the Jodo sect simply chant Nembutsu, and the Zen system just sits.

I myself believe that enlightenment can be attained by practicing ascetic practices while contributing to others with one's own mind and body. Also, instead of being in a so-called (albeit not appropriate) religious facility such as a temple, I believe that passing on while belonging to Ukiyo is evangelism, and I want to live my way of life.

I don't think it has been conveyed, but please let me know.

I think that's fine

I don't think Buddhism is an academic discipline.

Of course, being a monk is a way of life, not a profession.

Denominations, too

Just like there is a word called natural law.

I think it's fine with Buddhism in your way of looking at it.

Nembutsu and the title are by no means just chanting.

A Buddha is someone who can solve problems.

If you take it rather than your head, it also looks different...

Therawada Buddhism too

In addition to Japanese sects, Therawada Buddhism (Theravada Buddhism) is also interesting.
For example, take a look at the Japan Terawada Buddhist Association website.
The site harshly criticizes Japanese sects, but aside from that, it is useful for understanding basic knowledge (the foundation of all denominations) of Buddhism.
I belong to the Jodo sect.
Old monks thoroughly learned basic Buddhist knowledge, put it into practice, and then arrived at the teachings of the sect.
There are always three types of ascetic practices (three sciences) called the Four Noble Eightfold Path, Samata Meditation, and Vipassana Meditation, although they differ depending on the denomination.

The two resources of “wisdom and good fortune”

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

I've asked a similar question before, so I'll edit and quote it from there, so please check it out for a moment.

As the Buddhist theory is said to be the 84,000 Dharma, there are many teachings. The reason why so many teachings were preached is that Shakyamuni was preached to skillfully lead to enlightenment according to the opponent's root (ability/qualities to move towards enlightenment) (good, clever, and convenient).

Simply, you can think that they were explained to each person individually, or that they were explained how to deal with each of the 84,000 afflictions. Well, you can think that some degree of common denominator of these teachings is organized as something for each denomination, but when it comes to exactly which teachings suit you, I think it is necessary to add something about each to some extent.

However, it takes a huge amount of time and effort to read all the Buddhist scriptures and treatises, etc., so I think it would be good if you first learn from introductory books and reference books that give you an overview of Buddhist thought in its entirety.

Also, if you eventually come across something you want to learn and master in earnest, I think it would be nice to be asked for that mentor and seek guidance.

I wonder if it is possible to become an official Buddhist disciple and walk the Buddhist path by receiving admonition while staying at home. If you want to become a monk, you will need to practice in a place that is somewhat specialized, but if not, you won't be unable to practice even if you stay at home, so don't worry about that.

Anyway, whether at home or as a monk, what is important in practicing Buddhism is the “Bodhi Heart” (a heart that wants to seek enlightenment to save all things). First, it is necessary to establish a firm “Bodhi Heart,” and then surely accumulate the dual resources of “wisdom (understanding of the sky) and blessings (practice of convenience and merit)” for enlightenment.

Also, there is no need to force yourself to stick to the form of monastic training. Even in everyday life, sitting, and lying, it is important to proceed in a well-balanced (middle path) within a reasonable range of both mind and body.

Let's do our best and work hard together on the path of Buddhism.

You can feel a habit of looking through your own interpretation filters.

There is a saying that I get the violent impression that “the things in this world were created by myself” by the Hosso sect, but I don't want to put it bluntly, but I think your interpretation is violent. _ (._.) _
Apart from that, I'm not saying that God made it, or “created it myself.”
It means “what you see, hear, and feel is appearing and being created on your body as ❝ phases of the law ❞ (expression of things)” = your delusions, emotions, suffering, and your misunderstandings are all created by yourself (idealistic design).
Please calm down and be aware of that first, Na. (^<^)
I don't want to get angry. It's OK to blame them.
Ninety percent of people, including you and me, are all like that
I can't encounter true Buddhism because it says [I think of Buddhism with my own image]. This is because Buddhism was “idealized” within you before you met.
Apart from that, Nichiren Sect, Esoteric Buddhism, Jodo Shinshu, and Jodo Sect probably don't just chant Nembutsu.
Have you tried lifestyle coverage?
“And I have the impression that Zen is just sitting.”?
I spend about 10 minutes a week. I am doing zazen meditation in my active life.
That kind of zazen isn't zazen.
Nor are they sitting like idiots and being reclusive.
It's all about your image, Yuishin, made, too.
What have you been watching, and have you developed that kind of image?
It's probably exactly what I created. ←That kind of thing is called getting lost.
What kind of salvation are you trying to bring to the world from the fact that you don't know the origin of your doubts and thoughts? It just misleads people.
If you don't gain enlightenment, what are you going to evangelize?
What do you preach before you attain enlightenment?
That's Wakarang for me.
First, take things correctly, and your own subjectivity
Watching them all together is probably what you should do the most.
(Tange is tough for people who are likely to have prospects)
First of all, if you don't fix it, no matter what you learn, it's a subjective, private interpretation.

There are big differences between denominations, but so are teachers.

Why don't you actually attend the Dharma seats at various temples?

If you meet a teacher who seems like you can learn from,

That denomination is probably the one that suits you.

Even if you don't panic

I have nothing to say to you after only 20 years or so.
More than now, please work for people for the night. Please be someone who is appreciated.
Buddhism isn't too late after that.
