Look at a monk's site

When I saw a monk's site, I thought they might have this kind of idea.

“People who helped cats that were about to be eaten by snakes have been praised. How do snakes that have been robbed of their food feel, and can humans decide the lives and deaths of other creatures?”

I saw this idea and asked if I should have helped the cat or not because I don't think there is an answer, but I wanted to hear the monk's thoughts.

Differences between Buddhism and morality

If cats were saved, cats have a relationship () to live for,
It can be said that snakes had a relationship where they were robbed of their food.
Also, if cats are eaten, cats have a relationship called death,
It can be said that snakes had a relationship where they were blessed with food.
You might think of “relationship” as a condition.
----------
Buddhism says let's live by looking at the world properly by thinking about relationships.
----------
Let's help cats that seem to be able to eat it.
Let's feed the hungry snake.
Both are moral.
As you have just wondered, when morality and morality collide, there are many things in the world that cannot be solved with morality. So Buddhism is becoming necessary.
----------
In the first place, humans are imperfect creatures, so their actions and thoughts become imperfect.
Morality refers to the “imperfect idea” of an imperfect human being.
----------
On the other hand, the Buddha is perfect, so if there's something you don't understand or get lost, ask the Buddha and you won't make a mistake.
No matter how great a monk is, he is human, so he can only think imperfectly.
----------
So, don't let the monk lead everyone in the wrong direction due to personal misconceptions,
I throw away all my thoughts and say that the Buddha's teachings are like this, and it's written like this in the sutras, so I never say anything wrong.

If I get bitten by a snake

If you were bitten by a snake, what would you do with that snake? It wouldn't be a good idea to leave it as it is. They're probably thinking about getting away from themselves somehow. Sometimes they may even kill you.
The judgment will change depending on the circumstances at that time, don't you think?
There's probably no such thing as what kind of decisions are good or bad. The facts at that time only exist as facts.
We also do things on a daily basis that we receive lives in order to live. Meat such as cows and pigs is also eaten even if they are not directly killed. There's probably no crime there. You just don't have to waste it.

Essence over appearance.

Humans live by choosing what they think, moment by moment.
If cats and rabbits are in the shape of centipedes or cockroaches ❝ they are cute ❞, it is humans that are a source of prejudice against everything that is convenient.
Even though there are people who upload cats every day on Facebook, humans don't upload cockroaches every day.
Whales and dolphins are pathetic, but humans think it's OK to kill sharks.
Anpanman is justice, but it is also human to think that Baikinman and Baikinman's family are bad people.
The same goes for spiders and butterflies, and cats and snakes.
If you search for the truth, you can see that it is an equal life.
Let's say you act to help either of them right away.
Decide later whether that choice is good or bad.
Humans are particular about whether that choice is good or bad.
The Buddha's eye is to discern the “place” where there is nothing good or bad about it.
After knowing this, it is the human bodhisattva who can guide a person's mind in a good direction according to the situation.
You should learn a little more about this and get to know the nature of things.
Also, almost most people value good eyesight, and only good people come in handy, but please find that there is an even more wonderful brilliance in places where they are not.
