Choosing a denomination

Can I choose my own religion?
Someone recommended that I join the Soka Gakkai.

My parents' house is Zen. I married to a family of a different denomination, but we got divorced.
In this case, are you going back to your parents' denomination? Are you going to make a new choice yourself? I don't understand. I feel like the religion handed down in that family is like a bond connecting my ancestors and myself, so I'm uneasy about starting a new generation.

Why do people overcome problems that they can't handle on their own?

It's something you should choose for yourself and for yourself.

There is a coffee shop nearby that I've been going to since high school.
The master played a hot song from among thousands of records.
My master recently passed away, and my wife said she started it, so I went there.
When I talked about my master's memories, before I knew it, I ended up listening to the Soka Gakkai, criticism of established Buddhism, etc. for 30 minutes (-_-;) lol
But ☆ delicious coffee is good for everyone regardless of border religious denomination ☆
The master who passed away also spoke loudly, “He let me accept him.”
But weren't you that enthusiastic? Seems like the master just quietly played recommended songs, and if I asked, he also played songs I liked, and he never once solicited or taught me about my own religion.
In other words ☆ famous songs strike anyone's heart without borders or religious denominations ☆
Remembering that, I caught a customer with the exact opposite of sales and turned it to a mom who is keen on proselytizing
I wanted to say, “You don't have to force yourself to recommend ramen to people who are satisfied with soba,” but she also listened in silence because she thought she was working hard too.
❝ Humans are separated by titles and labels, but masterpieces and famous songs soothe the hearts of everyone ❞
Understanding this reason becomes true Buddhism and religion that transcends small divisions and divisions.
Every type of Buddhism in Japan, and every emerging Buddhist religion, is probably the Buddha.
There are various religions in the world, and there are various types of ramen, such as salt, miso, soy sauce, and pork.
There's absolutely no such thing as a bad thing if it's “this,” and you should determine the taste yourself. Whether they offer not only preferences, but also something that is sincerely good.
In the first place, convenience stores and supermarkets have standards that anyone can enter regardless of religious denomination.
True Buddhism and real religion are such inseparable ways.
Isn't that the root of things before religion?
I think the root and essence of things without bias or separation is originally called religion.

It's natural that I can't choose

> Can I choose my own religion?
Religion is a teaching that is read and described as sect (mune), just like the characters. Before choosing or not choosing, isn't religion the teachings Popo likes and the teachings he was satisfied with?

> I feel like the religion handed down in that family is like a bond connecting my ancestors and myself, so I'm uneasy about starting a new generation.
For Popo, it's a natural feeling if religion is “something that connects you with your ancestors.” I think people who were born and raised in Japan will feel the same way when they decide (for example) to make Brazil their final home. Brazil and Japan are on the same planet. Zen Buddhism is the same as other sects! It would be nice if you thought so, but if not, it may take some time until you are convinced.
There are many denominations in Japan, and the person who learned all of them and chose their own is Malé. It's natural that I couldn't make a choice. So, it's definitely not wrong to think that it's somehow fine, or that it's the same as my parents' house. In Buddhism, this is called marriage. Hopefully, what popo chooses isn't something that criticizes or slanders other teachings.
So-called emerging religions and cult religions, which many people criticize, have only a reason to be said so, so please be very careful.

> Why do people overcome problems that they can't handle on their own?
When we carry heavy luggage that we can't carry alone, we usually ask someone to help us. The worries are the same, and I think they talk to someone or ask the Buddha.
Please ask someone first about the height of the wall in front of you without straining your shoulders and elbows to overcome it.

Regarding “freedom of religion” and “sects”

Popo-sama

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

I'm really sorry for only quoting this time, but...

Question “Please give me some advice about my grandmother's bones.” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/174) ・Question “Can I change denominations?” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/266) deals with “freedom of religion,” and basically freedom of religion is guaranteed even in the Constitution, and individuals are free no matter what kind of faith they have, and of course they are not allowed to be forced, and of course they are not allowed to be forced, and individual thoughts and conscience (beliefs) must be respected, but it has been inherited and protected from family, relatives, and ancestors from generation to generation until now There are times when thoughts, beliefs, and beliefs must also be respected, and I think it is necessary not to easily ignore them, and aim for an amicable resolution through understanding through discussion so as not to lead to later disputes or grudges.

Regarding the fact that there are many denominations, the question “I made a mistake with the denomination” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/144), “There are various religious denominations, but although the purpose of Buddhism is basically to aim for nirvana and enlightenment, there are also various ideas and interpretations by those involved in the Buddhist scripture compilation process that began hundreds of years after Shakyamuni's fall with regard to Shakyamuni's counterfeiting theory, goodness, and convenience. It is thought that various ways and methods for the journey towards nirvana and enlightenment have come up.” Let me simply state it as.

Furthermore, I think the poor answers in the question “Why can't I decide on one thing...” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/303) and the question “Characteristics of sects in one word” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/237) will also be slightly helpful.

Truly, Buddhism is a teaching for overcoming worries and suffering. By all means, I would be grateful if you could continue to learn little by little. Please also refer to the question “How to learn Buddhist thought regardless of denomination” (http://hasunoha.jp/questions/233).

I thought about two things

Popo-sama
I'm Tetsuya Urakami from Nagomi-an.
How is your older sister doing after that?
This question is about what you should believe in yourself.

Actually, I saw “thank you” and wrote this answer.
As you said, there was only one temple in the village, and if all the villagers were members of that temple, there was no need to worry.

It is said that Popo has the idea that religion = Buddhist altar = ancestors.
Religion, not limited to Buddhism, is for people who are originally living.
However, since Japan, or rather in the Confucian cultural sphere, places great importance on parents and ancestors, Buddhism has been viewed as a means of memorial services for ancestors.
It's not that it's wrong or right, and it's actually recognized by the general public in Japan, so I think Popo also has strong feelings like that.

As one method, if your parents' house is Zen, divorced, and you want to cherish your ancestors even more, wouldn't it be a good idea to choose the same denomination as your parents' house? Why don't you go out with a temple you have a relationship with, participate in temple events, etc., and listen to the chief priest's story?

As another method, I have a stance that my relationship as a family is at a sect temple, but I personally am fascinated by sect B.
The reason why there are many sects in Buddhism comes from the fact that the Buddha taught a very wide range of teachings and was taught according to the abilities and temperament of the other person. Even though the goal is the same, it means that there is an optimal method for each person.
I came into contact with various teachings, this is it! It's also a good idea to choose that teaching.

Is it OK if the teachings at home and the teachings of being fascinated are different? Do you think so?
Don't worry, the Buddha doesn't get angry or punish you for that.

I'm also going to read and write words of thanks

This is Kaiunji Akiyama Genshin.
I understood that it was a very pure feeling.
In terms of legal theory, freedom of religion.
However, what cannot be fixed by law is Buddhism.
I was talking about Zen Buddhism, but in reality, there is no denomination called Zen Buddhism. It was subdivided from there, and there are many major divisions. Why don't you search for the best path for yourself and for your ancestors? Fortunately, people from many denominations at HASUNOHA are doing their best to overcome the barriers.
For me, this is a belief, but is it better to avoid belittling people or teaching them that they will be unhappy if they do it? The origin of Buddhism was explained by Buddha to wish for the happiness of people living today.
