I'm worried to be told a story I was inspired by in my childhood

I went to my grandparents' house the other day and talked with my grandparents and cousins.
It was a story about my childhood when I wasn't able to remember myself at that time, and I was told stories about how when I went to graves and temples, I could see spirits (for example, talking about girls saying thank you in front of Mizuko's tomb and crying all the time at the funeral of a relative who died in an accident).
It seems that such inspirational experiences continued until the lower grades of elementary school, and they were told that even when they became adults, they were made invisible to relatives who could see a spiritual presence in the same way as their childhood self. Right now, I don't have any memories of that, and I'm scared to hear stories I don't know from the past, the feeling that I don't want to listen to them springs up, and strong discomfort and anxiety continue as if I'm being deeply excavated from heartbreak that I had forgotten and didn't want to be touched, and I think about it many times a day, and I'm in a state of mental instability.
Also, after listening to the story, I have had a slight flashback of bad memories from when I was a child, although they were not spiritual.
How can I erase it from my memory and heal my heartbreak?
Also, is it possible to overcome the vague anxiety that there is a possibility that such spiritual things can be seen?

I don't currently believe in spiritual things, but after listening to the story, I had a strong sense of discomfort and anxiety, so I discussed it. To be honest, I don't really understand it myself, so it may be difficult to answer when answering, but thank you for your answers.

Thank you for your question.
I live surrounded by graves, but even after 50 years of life, I have never seen a spirit.
So I'm jealous of the people who saw it.
If you can see it, isn't it okay to be able to see it?
I don't think being able to see is a bad thing.
I think it's important to let go of assumptions and preconceptions that you shouldn't be seen.
When you remember bad memories from your childhood, take a look around you and try to recognize that you're not a child now.
Bad memories disappear in an instant, albeit temporarily.

Memories are discussed including ambiguity and exaggeration. Senses are underdeveloped and poor

When people talk about their “past self” that they don't remember, it's scary, isn't it?

It was probably talked about as an inspiration for you, from adults' memories that it seemed like such a thing had happened. However, human memory is discussed including ambiguity and exaggeration, and since childhood senses are underdeveloped and there are parts where expression is scarce, adults who have received it may also understand that they are “inspired.”
In fact, there are many people who say “their parents often said that they were able to see spirits in their childhood.” So I don't know if it really was a spirit. That's because no one can prove it.

Don't be afraid, it's okay. Nothing threatens you, and even if you feel something in the future, let's take it as one of the human senses.

Please don't worry

I read it.
It's scary and scary when you talk about that kind of thing, doesn't it? I think I can understand how you feel. I understand your feelings from the bottom of my heart.
There are certainly people who are inspired, but if you're being asked how you are and you don't have inspiration, there's almost no need to worry about it.
I don't know about you, but I don't think I'll ever be able to see spirits if I haven't seen spirits until now.
Everyone is different, so let's switch our minds by saying there are people who can see, but we can't see ourselves, so don't worry.
I sincerely pray to the Buddha, gods, and ancestors so that you can live every day with peace of mind and that they will grow healthily. We wholeheartedly agree
