I want you to tell me a book where I can learn the teachings of Buddhism
I've recently started to want to know the teachings of Buddhism. However, even when I look it up on the internet, it is difficult to search for things with high accuracy of information, such as those that come up (probably) from cult groups or private sites that are unreliable.
Therefore, I decided to search for books that were relatively reliable.
I also thought about visiting the temple directly to listen to the puja, but since I am a student, I don't have any money or time just to do offerings.
Also, my family has allergic resistance to religion itself, and they quickly associate religious stories with cults, so I want to avoid being misunderstood as being addicted to cults. Zoom consultations on this site also cannot be used due to financial burdens and the possibility that family members may come in along the way.
As for book preferences, I prefer those that are academic and have a neutral point of view as much as possible, but I would like to buy an introductory book first.
If you know any good books or documents, I would be happy if you could let me know.
