I'm worried about my family's illness.

Nice to meet you. We look forward to working with you.

My family had a stroke and have been in the hospital for over 3 years. Meals are ingested from the stomach, so called bedridden.

I'm at a loss as to whether or not to apply for a disability pension for that family member. The person himself has been receiving welfare pensions for a long time, and since medical conditions also apply, it is likely that the highest disability pension will be lowered with a high probability if he applies.

However, I have already been hospitalized for years, and a considerable amount of medical expenses are covered by health insurance every month. Furthermore, I'm wondering if it's okay to apply for a disability pension.
It's the right of a family that has paid a pension and worked all the time, so I'd like to apply for it, but I'm at a loss.

I would appreciate it if you could tell me what to do. Thank you for your support.

Are there any disadvantages?

Are there any other disadvantages to receiving a disability pension?
For example, if you get a disability pension, your other pensions will decrease, long-term care insurance or other services will become unusable or expensive, or if there are any problems related to tax deductions, or are there any troublesome procedures that increase every year?
I think you should check that area at the government office, and if there are no particular disadvantages, don't hesitate to receive it.
Everyone has worries such as greed, anger, laziness, pride, etc.
It's normal that you also have some kind of trouble, such as procedures being troublesome (laziness), being embarrassed to be taken care of by the government office (pride), dislike being made to wait for government office procedures (anger), and having other things you want to do rather than time to go to the procedure (greed).
With that in mind, let's gather information first in order to carefully investigate and compare the merits and demerits.
New ideas can be expected from new information (scenery), and new emotions can be expected from new ideas, so it's also interesting to take a step forward to see new scenery.

Please take it proudly as your family's natural right.

I understand not only your family's many years of fighting illnesses, and your own mental and physical burdens as you continue to take care of them.
In Buddhism, we preach “life, old age, illness, and death” as suffering that we cannot avoid. The fact that a family member fell ill is no one's fault; it is a reality we face in our lives.

If you feel burdened by applying for a disability pension, it is probably because of your humility and kindness. However, in Buddhism, there is a teaching called “thanks to you,” that we live by supporting each other. Social pension systems are also made up of this spirit of “mutual assistance.” The family has worked hard for many years, and the pension they have paid has been supported by someone unknown until now. Now it's your turn to be supported by your family, and you, who support you, by society as “Thanks.”

There's never any need to hold back or feel guilty. Please take it proudly as your family's natural right. Also, I sincerely hope that you can lighten the burden on your own mind and life by that amount.

Please don't worry alone and consult with experts such as your primary care physician or social insurance labor consultant as soon as possible.

Let's talk to an expert

I read it.
Your family is seriously ill and you are very uncertain whether or not to apply for a disability pension. I don't know the details about you or your family, but I can tell you that you are very worried. I understand your feelings from the bottom of my heart.
If your family is in such a situation, I think it would be better to apply because of that.
Let's ask an expert about the details of pensions. Pension offices will also accept consultations, and I think it's okay to consult with people such as social labor consultants and financial planners who are good at pensions, etc.

I think there are various cases, so let's talk about the family's situation and get advice and support on what to do.
That's probably because family members haven't worked hard until now to pay their pensions.
Please listen to the opinions of various people and use them as a reference before making a decision.
I sincerely pray that you and your family can receive advice and support from many people and receive care with peace of mind, and that they can peacefully survive the lives they have been given. We wholeheartedly agree

A system that supports life. With support, we can face the current situation.

Even though I've drawn my life, no one knows what the future holds. That's why disability pensions are a system that supports life.

My family also had trouble getting sick. They lived for a long time, and our family spent precious time together.

By having support, you can have peace of mind and face this current situation.
Please do not hesitate to apply so that your family can spend their time with peace of mind.
