Is corporal punishment necessary?

It became painful again, so please let me throw it out.

The opinion that corporal punishment from childhood is necessary is painful.
My parents gave me unreasonable slaps, kicked off my head, and dragged me by the arm.
People stare at me when you do good things, and they say you're really bad, and you're really bad.

Even now that I'm over 40, I'm still suffering from mental sequelae. The sense of self-affirmation is abnormally low, and self-sacrifice is strong.

I live alone and are separated, but I'm still involved with my parents, and they talk as if nothing had happened. They say, “We're at peace without anything, aren't we?”

Let go of the obsession “because we're parents” and keep a distance without getting involved

Thank you for sharing your painful feelings.

The treatment you received when you were young is neither “education” nor “corporal punishment,” and it is “violence” that can never be tolerated. The fact that my heart still hurts even after the age of 40 is proof that I have suffered such a deep wound, and it is natural. Please never blame yourself for having a low sense of self-affirmation.

In Buddhism, there is the term “grudge and hatred (suffering),” which explains the suffering associated with those who bring suffering. It's very sad that your parents aren't aware of the violence at the time, but you can't change someone else's heart or past.

Right now, above all else, protecting your own heart is a top priority. Let go of the obsession “because we're parents,” and if getting involved becomes painful, gently keep a physical and psychological distance. Separation from your parents is not an escape; it is the right path to protect your own dignity.

From now on, please direct the greatest “mercy” towards yourself. Instead of being bound by past memories, I sincerely hope that you will be able to focus on what you feel “comfortable” now and walk through your own life peacefully and vigorously.

You can tell it. Don't put a lid on your mind. Prioritize your life

There must be no violence in raising children or educating children for any reason. Violence doesn't nurture anything and doesn't solve it.

I don't want you to mislead abuse (violence) as love or discipline for children. It became a deep and painful wound, and I continue to be traumatized and hurt for a long time.

from my parents... it was scary, wasn't it? It's still painful now.
What did you say you did?

If it's not convenient for parents, are they bad kids?
How good are your parents?

It can often be said that “we are at peace without anything.”

You can tell them.
“I'm still in pain. I'm still being hurt by you guys.”

Parents should acknowledge their mistakes and apologize to their children.
This is because children don't have confidence, and they still lose the peace of being cherished and loved.
Your recovery is about not putting a lid on your mind.

Also, it's up to you to decide the distance between you and your parents. My parents are going to live as husband and wife. So, you should prioritize your own life.

Rants and violence are misdeeds

I read it.
You've had a very difficult time being abused and assaulted by your parents since you were young. You're still deeply hurt, aren't you? I don't know the details about you or your parents, but I understand your painful feelings from the bottom of my heart.
What your parents have done is a misconduct, and they have committed crimes even though they say corporal punishment. That is by no means allowed. Your parents will be punished for the crimes they have committed themselves.
Please be sure to tell your parents how you feel. It is necessary that you firmly convey your thoughts to your parents, that your parents sincerely repent, and sincerely apologize to you. Also, parents need to take an oath from Shinto Buddha, your ancestors, and you so that they will never commit such a crime again.
Otherwise, your parents will continue to suffer from now on.
You're never bad. Please take care of yourself and acknowledge you.
If your parents don't acknowledge their own crimes at all and don't apologize, then your relationship with your parents is a bad relationship. I think it is desirable to draw a firm line with bad relationships and keep a distance.
You can have a healthy and secure future ahead of you.

I sincerely pray to Buddha, God, and your ancestors so that you can live every day with peace of mind away from such misdeeds and bad relationships, and that you can live a healthy and compassionate life with those who are really important to each other.
And I will support you from the bottom of my heart.
