sexually harassing old man

I was quickly sexually harassed at the company I worked for in my first year as a new graduate.

I was invited to eat alone by someone in a superior position. I declined, but even so, they were scared and went away, and an approach ban was issued due to various things.

It's been a job I've wanted to do since I was in middle school.
It was difficult, but it was also very rewarding.

It happened just when I thought I'd be proud of this job for the rest of my life.
At age 22, I had no strength left to go to another job, and now I'm quitting that job and getting another job I want to do.

It was a world of education. The life guidance chief, who is in a position to teach that bullying should not be done, has been sexually harassed, the principal that I thought I could rely on said that I wanted them not to talk about sexual harassment, and in the end, that chief teacher didn't quit and is still working at that school.

I didn't know who to trust, and I began to think that everyone was an enemy, and although I made it through March, I ended up not being able to work for a while after that.

Now I've successfully taken another job and am doing what I want to do. However, every time I think about it, I feel disgusted and confused.

When I was in middle school, I was bullied and didn't get along well with my teachers at school, and I grew up with distrust of my teachers and adults, but I got very upset that they didn't change after all even when I became an adult.

I didn't want to be that kind of teacher, and on the other hand, even though I worked hard as a teacher, I didn't think I would be crushed by someone like that.

When I talked to the only teacher I thought I could trust, they told me they were young ~ there are such things no matter where I go, and I decided to change jobs because I thought I'd stop talking to them anymore.

It's nice now because it's fun now, but when I suddenly think about that at night, I'm so confused that I can't sleep.

What should I do

What you can control

What are some ways to reduce your suffering? I will answer from that point of view.
If you compare it to hay fever, pollen will not disappear from the earth.
Therefore, there is no choice but to deal with the immune response to pollen, in other words, to take measures in a category that you can control.
If pollen is replaced with sexually harassing old men, there will be no disappearance of sexually harassing old men from the world.
In the wild animal world, there are many cases where males chase females insistently and approach females until they feel like it, and as a result, they become horny and produce offspring.
Humans are animals too, and since the concept of sexual harassment is only a relatively new artificial rule, it is unfortunate that sexual harassment will drop to zero in the world.
Of course, that's why education (dissemination of artificial rules) is important.
According to Buddhism, no one can control others the way they want.
If so, what can you control?
One of them is to reduce delusional distractions about the past, the future, yourself, and others.
The past has passed away and is no more.
The body's cells are replaced by metabolism, and the mind floats and disappears instantaneously, and changes.
So, my past self and my present self are actually different people. A new self every moment.
The past is just memory data.
Reducing the time and number of times you touch that stored data (allergens) will lead to a reduction in worries and suffering.
Quickly stop delusional thoughts about the past, the future, yourself, and others, and the grandiose circulation of thoughts in the same information.
That's what you can control right now and here in order to recover your mood and physical condition.
For specific methods, why not try Vipassana meditation or mindfulness, for example?
I hope you get the hang of it to peace of mind.
Even if clouds can hide the moon, they can't destroy the moon.
If clouds (delusional distractions) pass by, you should be able to return to the full moon (quiet and calm mind).
Thoughts that stimulate anger and sadness are clouds that flow past.
If you compare the brain to a baby, the brain wants to play with a toy called memory data from a sexually harassing old man.
However, the toy is covered with allergens.
So, give them safe toys, such as meditation, and gently pick up dangerous toys.

It's a terrible story

I am also one of those working in the field of education. I feel that such an unreasonable constitution that is closed and unwilling to open up is a problem that must be addressed. It's not you who should quit your job, but the offender. You're not bad at anything. It's a really terrible story. This is a social issue that must change.

I think it was great that you are working in a safe place now.

It's just that memory from the past is making you suffer... It makes me feel like I won't let you do it, but it's necessary to think about this by separating social issues from what is an issue within you.

One thing I can say is that I've left that person and now I'm in a safe and secure place. That is a fact. You can now feel at ease.

Also, if you want to properly face the past, I recommend that you go to the appropriate specialist. And I think it's better to treat it properly.

I'm a Zen monk, so I'd recommend doing zazen. Zazen deliberately creates factual time to feel the β€œnow” of being away from bad things in the past with your whole body, but it seems that some people find it difficult. You may need to consult with your doctor according to your state of mind.

Please take care of yourself first

I read it.
You had a very painful feeling when you were sexually harassed or stigmatized by your chief teacher or principal at the educational site you wanted to be. You had no choice but to quit your job. I don't know the details, but I understand your painful feelings from the bottom of my heart.
I think you got the job with hope. However, educators and those responsible for such acts of sexual harassment and cover-up are crimes, and they are acts that are absolutely unforgivable.
It must be a very painful feeling for you, so please heal them by taking care of yourself first. Also, please heal your mind and body even a little bit.

Let's thoroughly consult with a lawyer about a series of crimes such as sexual harassment that you have committed and appeal to the local government board of education. And let the educators, directors, and administrators who commit such crimes be punished. Such criminal acts may occur again. Those who commit such crimes will commit the same mistake again.

Therefore, there is a responsibility to make a firm appeal and be punished, have them sincerely reflect and repent, and apologize and make compensation to you in good faith, and the Board of Education also has a responsibility.
I sincerely pray that you will be able to work with peace of mind without being subject to such criminal acts again, that you can live the future with dreams and hopes, and that you will be able to live a rich, healthy, and happy life with many people from the bottom of your heart.
And I wholeheartedly support you.

Sanction the offenders. You too have the power to protect yourself legally.

that's terrible... it was frustrating.
Even though I gathered up my courage and consulted, they didn't protect you as a victim, and the opinion that it's common since you're young is nothing but hopeless, isn't it?

The job I've been aiming for. I got a national qualification, and I've been proud of this job and worked hard my whole life.
They were hurt by such despicable people, robbed them of their work and motivation, and even robbed them of the future of the students who met you and were supposed to grow. The reality of being an educator is full of frustration and emptiness, isn't it?

I want them to gain strength. I work as an administrative consultation support worker on a daily basis. Since it is a general contact, we handle all kinds of consultations, but we mainly provide accompanying support for DV and violence. Victims who have suffered violence are also traumatized until they are connected to support destinations, and it is scary to even talk about (complain) about the damage. They are scared just by remembering them, blame themselves for self-denial, distrust of humanity, etc., and suffer secondary damage because they have gaps since they are young. Even if you leave the scene, the wounds you've received are deep and the suffering won't go away, right?

Please, I want you to gain strength. It's about connecting in this way. Know who to support. Don't blame yourself. There's nothing wrong with you.

You've even been robbed of your job. That's strange, isn't it? It's not that unreasonable, is it?

There is a β€œLaw Terrace Crime Victim Support Dial.” You can consult up to 3 times for free, and there is a crime victim support lawyer system. In your case, although it wasn't made public, an approach ban was issued to your opponent. In other words, they acknowledged sexual harassment. You can also claim alimony. You probably don't want to take care of your partner or school. If lawyers act, I think guarantees against you, the victim, will be protected. There is no blame, and social sanctions are imposed on the perpetrators who are still teachers. Together with the experts, you too have the power to protect yourself legally.

Sexual harassment must not be tolerated! At the end, win with your career!

I saw your consultation, Pi-chan.

I was sexually harassed early in my first year as a new graduate.
An aggressive invitation to eat that cannot be declined from someone in a superior position.
While sexual harassment is being said this much
It looks like there's still more.

The fact that a ban on approach was issued means that the police were contacted, right?

That's a little reassuring.

It's a job I've wanted to do since I was in middle school, and even though I worked hard to become a teacher, I don't want them to give up because of this.

Why is the life guidance chief not quitting and is still working? the principal says don't talk nonsense...
there's nothing you can do about it. As an educator, I wonder if I'm not ashamed.

I've suffered so much that I haven't been able to work for a while... I really can't forgive it. My heart tightens even just thinking about how Pi-chan spent her time.

Right now, I've successfully got another job, and I've been able to do what I want to do, so I think it's great and strong. I've been supporting you all the time! Please don't give in to such terrible dads. Don't let your life be ruined!

If the feeling of being disgusted and confused continues for a long time, it will be traumatic.

On the other hand, if you become a teacher because of bad teachers and distrust of adults,

Also, over time, it may be good to return (of course, to be a teacher at a different school), even after getting a little older.

I feel like it's a way to sublimate the experience Pi-chan did.

A way of being a teacher that only Pi-chan, who has had this kind of experience, may be established.

When you're young, that alone makes you look at lightly and put pressure on you, right?
It's probably frustrating right now, but if you work hard every day, your career will be complete,

There is something like an aura around me that doesn't make me act that lightly and shamelessly.
Anyway, I want you to protect yourself and not give up on your dreams.

I'm rooting for you πŸ“£!
