About the birthday play from a friend
An internet friend said “I'm going to prepare a birthday present” with an X since last year, but on the day of my birthday this year, they didn't say congratulations or apologize for not being able to prepare before the birthday.
My friend on the internet has been mentally ill since last year, and I know that the person himself is in such a difficult state that it is painful to do something with people. However, it's unavoidable that I couldn't prepare due to a mental disorder, probably because I'm busy with work, and I'm really happy just because of the feeling of “I want to prepare for the birthday preparation,” but the feeling that I want them to apologize because even just one word is fine, and loneliness and sadness pile up and become emotional, and there is a possibility that I will say terrible things to my friends if I leave it like this, so “It's been a while. I would be happy if you could DM me to my real name (ID listed on X) when you feel better. I'll keep my distance for a while until then. Take care.” I sent LINE. However, it wasn't read even after 1 day, and I got angry and suddenly deleted my friend's LINE account. (“When I was contacted to return the game software, I was able to do it all day long, but why only at times like this...”)
I regret that I made my friend feel uneasy because of this kind of behavior. So I honestly conveyed my apology for the LINE incident on Discord and the sadness that they didn't apologize for not being able to prepare for the birth, and then said, “Let's do creative activities and talk together when we feel better.”
I didn't expect anything about the birth, and I thought I should wait longer for my friend to get better. I'm still blaming myself for thinking more about my friend's point of view.
What do you think from a monk's point of view? If there are any bad points or ways to stay good with friends for a long time, please give me some advice.
Sorry for the long post.
