I misrepresented my work history to my job offer

I wrote a lie on the resume I submitted to my job offer.
Furthermore, during the interview, I lied about the reason for my retirement.
The length of time I was enrolled in my previous job has been inflated.
I know that making corrections and apologies before joining the company will make me feel easier, but when I think about losing my life or job offer, I'm too scared to do anything.
There are currently no investigations, etc., so there is little possibility that they will be discovered, but it's painful not getting out of my head every day.
How can I get forgiveness for telling a lie?

Don't make yourself suffer.

I have read your consultation.

It's not just because “lies may be revealed” that you're suffering.

Actually, I think it's painful that I lied to myself.

When it comes to job hunting, there are many people who feel like they want to look even a little better.

Life is at stake, so I can understand that feeling.

However, that doesn't mean that even the suffering of the heart will go away.

Incorrectly describing the period of enrollment in a previous job may be evaluated as career misrepresentation depending on the details.

On the other hand, the hiring side is looking not only at work history, but also at personality, attitude towards work, and whether they will be active in the company for a long time.

It's up to you to decide whether or not to make the final corrections.

However, if you think “I can't get that lie out of my head” in the future, telling it sooner will make your own heart feel lighter.

Even if I tell you,

“When I looked back at my resume, I had mistakenly listed the period of time I had been in my previous job. I'm sorry. Could you please replace it?”

I think that's enough.

Everyone fails.

What is important in Buddhism is not “not to fail.”

It's about how to deal with mistakes when you notice them.

People can change from the day they decide to live honestly.

Please don't live a life where you keep blaming yourself, but live a life that is honest with yourself.

I understand how you feel

I read it.
I don't know the details of you or the details of your lies, but I feel that I understand your painful feelings very well. I understand your feelings from the bottom of my heart.

Please take a leisurely break first. Please calm down and inhale slowly without being in a hurry, then slowly exhale.
Please don't worry.
The Buddha, God, and your ancestors are kind and always watching over you. They watch over you so that you live a healthy and rich life every day.

Please sincerely confess your thoughts to the Buddha, gods, and ancestors. Please calm down, slowly, and tell us whatever comes to mind. The Buddha, gods, and ancestors kindly accept all of your thoughts. He accepts you and saves you.
And he will guide you correctly.

I sincerely pray to the Buddha, God, and your ancestors so that you can continue to grow and live a fulfilling life in the future. We wholeheartedly agree

there is no choice but to decide which path to choose by making up your own mind

I understand that every day you spend your time feeling heartbreaking pain. The question is “how to get forgiven,” but what is blaming you more than anything else right now is “your own conscience” like no one else.

In Buddhism, there is a teaching called “indecent rhetoric (fumogokai),” which says you must not tell lies. Lies are admonished not only because they deceive others. This is because, as you are now experiencing firsthand, lies bind one's heart heavily and take away the peace of everyday life. Even if the possibility of being discovered by the company is low, spending years or decades with the fear that “they may find out someday” is nothing but a loss of a vibrant freedom of mind.

Of course, if you offer “correction and apology” here, there is a possibility that the harsh reality of “job offer cancellation” awaits. Your anxiety about your future life is desperate, and no one can force you to “confess everything right now.” You have no choice but to decide which path you choose in the end by making up your own mind.

You're still in your 20s, and your long journey in life has just begun. Please use this suffering as a profound lesson for regulating your future life to “never betray your own conscience again and live humbly and sincerely.” Face your own weakness head-on and make a pledge to correct your way of life. That should be the first step towards forgiving ourselves and being saved in the true sense of the word.

I'll respond at work. So that I can have confidence in myself even if I don't lie

If you're thinking about getting forgiven, don't lie.

No matter what, they wanted to be hired. You wanted to make a good impression, didn't you?
I even told a lie and went into the workplace. If that's the case, I have no choice but to respond at work. You should do more work than expected. Please do your best to convince them that you've hired good people.

So that you can have confidence in yourself, even if you don't lie. Let's work steadily. Experience and persistence are power.
