Just like you think

Hello. I'm currently 18 years old and a first-year college student. It's a bit difficult to express, but recently I feel like I've been wondering a lot about what life is. I had an idea of what caused this, and I came across a lot of things that didn't go the way I wanted. I often hear the phrase that life is fun because it doesn't go the way you want it to, but I'm sorry, but I don't understand it at all. I think it's not just a theory of consequences that people who were able to overcome things that didn't go the way they wanted to say. I think it's just a misfortune and an obstacle for people who haven't been able to overcome it in a progressive way right now. Even if they grow after that, I don't know why they have to suffer in order to grow in the first place. That's why I think the world of my imagination = a world where I can do everything the way I want is more valuable. But there is no such thing in the real world. So recently, I've been wondering if I could go to a world where my fantasies are reflected after death as a reward if I live to the end without committing suicide. There's no guarantee that such a world will exist after death, and I don't have the courage to die, so I don't intend to commit suicide or anything like that, but I'm tired of living in this real world where things don't go the way I want. If you look at it from the side, you might think this guy is super selfish. Certainly, I'm selfish, but I wonder if all humans are selfish just because they usually hide it. Somehow I don't know how to live anymore. It didn't turn out the way I wanted, and I'm still alive for some reason even though I don't know when I'm going to die. I wonder what it is. I know that even if I think about it, I don't get an easy answer, but I can't stop it. I typed it like I was talking to myself, so it became a mess of sentences, but thank you for reading it until the end.

All humans are within themselves

hello! Nice to meet you. Thank you for asking straight forward questions.
Now, one of the themes is “Everyone's Self,” but why don't you dig a little deeper? What does “being yourself” mean? Why is everyone hiding it? What are the benefits of hiding? I wonder how it is around there.
I'm not denying your opinion... that all humans are selfish. However, I feel that the way to capture it is rough. Also, I think the insight into “hiding” is shallow. That's how I feel. Humans don't often do things that don't have merit. What are the benefits of “hiding one's self-worth”? Is that a waste? When you listen to the actions and thoughts of the people around you, I think you have discovered something.
I'm close to 60, and I think being able to interact with young people in this way is a blessing today. Please enjoy the conversation with a living human being.
At the end of your question, “Thank you for reading,” I really like it.

The more “tired” you feel, the more serious you are about life

Thank you very much for your consultation. I took it firmly in your honest heart.

It's no surprise that the phrase “you can grow because it doesn't turn out the way you want” sounds beautiful to you right now. There is a teaching in Buddhism called “all suffering (all suffering),” and this “suffering” exactly indicates “not going the way you want it.” In other words, even Buddha saw through that life wasn't going the way he wanted it in the first place.

Also, your awareness that “all humans are self-centered” is a sharp truth. Everyone is the cutest person they are. It's also a defensive instinct to try to help yourself in order to survive. That's why, first of all, please be kinder and show “mercy” to yourself, who isn't going the way you want and is exhausted.

Everything may seem painful right now, but there is definitely not only suffering in life, but also small “pleasures” that make you want to suddenly go see the ocean, and “joy” when you have accomplished something. You're taking life so seriously that you feel “tired” as a teenager.

It didn't turn out the way I wanted, and I don't know when it will end. But why do we live? This is because “life” itself, which exists within a limited period of time, is more precious than anything else. You are also free to use the world of your imagination to support your mind. However, don't force yourself to rush to an answer right now, and try living that precious “now” at your own pace while taking care of yourself.

If there's “something” you suffer from, don't hold it alone.

Well, things don't go the way you want them to. There are times when I, too, think that it would be a little different, even though it was Talareva.

You're going to get tired, maybe again...
It doesn't turn out the way I expected. It's frustrating, and it's painful when it continues.
To the point where you want to give up on living, you may not be able to hope or even look forward to the future.

Certainly, things don't go the way you want, so you may have new encounters and experiences while thinking and striving about that, and searching for a different path. For people who were able to turn it into such an opportunity or opportunity, it may be possible to say, “Life is fun because it doesn't go the way you want it to.”
For people who are in the midst of suffering right now, you might think you shouldn't be bossy.

Surely, thinking about the next method or path and correcting the trajectory in response to the “unexpectation or pinch” of not going as expected is “why,” rather than anxiety or giving up. They may be full of curiosity and inquisitiveness, saying “I want to know.” These are also important powers for humans to learn and grow.

If you go the way you want, you can feel peace of mind and joy, but since there are various people, thoughts, and values in this world, and the world doesn't revolve on your own, it's not “the way I want it,” and you have to experience sorrow and suffering.

If it's just the way you want it, then maybe it's humans who expect something to happen. There are different ways to capture it.

I wonder what things didn't go the way you wanted them to.
What kind of life do you want?

I also met people who encouraged and helped me when things didn't go the way I expected. I was thankful for that. I feel that it was growth for me that I was able to take on challenges in a different way and work hard to achieve what I expected.

The evaluation of your own life may be something only you understand, but if there is “something” that you suffer from, why don't you think about it together without holding it alone?
I hope Hasunoha will be your strength and support.

If you share it, it's easy

I read it.
You're wondering what it would be like to live a life that doesn't go the way you want it to. Is there any point in living a difficult life that doesn't go the way you want it to? You're thinking about it, aren't you? I don't know the details of you or your surroundings, but I feel like I understand your thoughts very well. I understand your feelings from the bottom of my heart.

Well, if life goes the way you want, you'll be able to live a happy and happy life without any hardships. No one will be able to live without worry and without suffering. I also think it would be nice if the world were like that.

However, in reality, things don't go the way we want in the world, and there are so many painful things. Maybe every day is full of hard things. Even in Buddhism, I tell you that it's suffering because everything doesn't go the way you want it to.

Nonetheless, we are living in such circumstances. I think the theme of each of our lives is how to live in a world that doesn't go the way we want.

While you feel that way now, as you live from now on, you will encounter various things and people, and there will also be joy and suffering. Not everything will go smoothly, but I think you will realize the meaning and preciousness of living in such circumstances, even when things don't turn out the way you want them to.

The words of the poet Mitsuo Aida are the words of that way of life that I personally think

If we talk too well, we don't share enough
If we get along well, it's easy if we share
If we talk well, we are happy if we share
If we talk bad, if we share our dissatisfaction, we appreciate it
If we talk well, if we share the war, peace
If we talk to each other, hell, if we share it, paradise
I think there's a hint.
If you keep in mind such a way of life, your suffering will probably disappear in a very peaceful way even if you think things won't go the way you want them to.

What kind of life will you lead?

I sincerely pray to the Buddha, God, and your ancestors that you will be able to share your future sincerely and peacefully with everyone, share your happiness with less suffering, and survive. We wholeheartedly agree
