What are humans headed for, and where are they headed?

Humans are born and die. It has continued for many years, leaving descendants. I don't know how long it will last, but I wonder if it will continue.
But why do humans keep doing it over and over again? Everyone is doing it as a matter of course, just over and over again, being born and living, leaving descendants, and dying, but what is this for?

What I want to know is not what one person lives for, but where is humanity as a whole headed for.
Is there any purpose for repeating this cycle all the time, and various things develop and evolve? If there was a purpose, what would it be? If not, why do they exist? What's the goal? is there one? Please tell me what the monk thinks.

It's not that I don't like living or anything like that; I simply want to know. Also, I'm 19 now, and I've been thinking about it since I was in elementary school. When I tell people this story, I haven't thought about it and I'm not interested. They say that they don't understand the meaning of what you're saying, and that they don't want to know anything. Why doesn't everyone wonder about this even though they are participating in this cycle themselves? It's strange. am I crazy...

The metaphor of the Poisonous Archer

There is a story like this in the anecdote of Buddha, the founder of Buddhism.

One of the Buddha's disciples was a philosophical young man named Maalunkuya.
He always asks, “Is there a world after death, is the universe finite or infinite?”
I was just thinking about things like that.
I ask the Buddha about this every time something happens, but he can't answer it.
What about the numb Maarnkuya
“Please answer today. If you don't answer, I will leave the Order.”
When he approached him, the Buddha answered like this.

“It's Marunkuya. Imagine a man being shot by a poisonous arrow in the woods. When my friend pulled out the poison arrow and tried to treat it, that man said, “Wait! Who shot this poison arrow, what is the caste (Indian status), whether their skin color is black or white, how tall they are, and what are the components of this poison? They said, “Don't get rid of this poison arrow until you understand them.” If you do what this man says, the poison will spread and you will die. The important thing is to remove the poison arrow immediately and treat it. Is the universe finite or infinite? If you keep worrying about that, you'll die right away.”

This is called the metaphor of a poisonous arrow.

We are proud to say that it is the primate of everything
Just as a mole with no eyesight in the ground can't know the reality of the human world,
Just like humans, this macrocosm in the first place, the wonders of life, etc.
There's no way you can understand it.
No matter how far science progresses, you probably won't know “for what.”

But I only understand the mystery of “I” living here and now and existing.
There is no doubt that this is truly a “mysterious” phenomenon.

And because it's something you don't understand,
“Faith” is becoming more prominent.

Find out the answers yourself!

Hello, Ringo. I've been living for close to 55 years, but I still don't know. However, if I had to understand one thing, it would be that the answer lies within myself. Ask yourself who you are. And let your own flowers bloom. Ask your soul!.

Hi, great question.

I still think about that too.
In conclusion, there is no goal or clear purpose for human life or death.
Genes and science may advance while progressing, and some parts degenerate, but there is no end once you reach a certain level like in a game.

The progress is bleak, but from a Buddhist point of view, life, old age, illness, and death is something we can't do on our own will.
In other words, you can't control life or death on your own.
If we can set goals and objectives, such as controlling when we are born and die ourselves, we can draw conclusions, but unfortunately we are passive when we are born and die.

There may be misnomers in this way of saying it, but since it is a fact that cannot be changed once you have been born, the Buddhist way of thinking is to give top priority to how we should live in the future.

If we keep a closer distance and think in general society, thinking about what kind of properties and abilities we have, and how we can use them for the people around us, does life mean living?

I'm sorry that the answer was somewhat generic.

That's my idea.
What is humanity for and where is it headed? The answer common to all
I don't think there's a universal answer.
It's about the purpose and meaning of what it is for
People were not born into a world of meaning,
Seeing and hearing the various functions that human beings have...
“Meaning” is established on top of that cognitive function, isn't it?
It's not about having meaning that I am,
It is said that meaning occurs because of oneself (the work of life)
I think it's in order. So what does every meaning mean
What you find within yourself, and what you create
I think so.

I would say that the goal of humanity as a whole is the perfection of individual souls,
I think it will make you notice and remember that it was originally a Buddha.
I think it's about awakening to the essence of a person.
I don't think it's possible to make ends meet with the outside world, even if it's called human peace.
I think this can only be achieved when each person prepares the inside.
In order to improve each other, various things in this world
I think it's happening. If you don't get cornered
It's hard to notice, so there are painful and sad things
I think there are a lot of them.

It is said that they have been asking questions since elementary school.
There's nothing strange about it. Not at all.
Keep asking, keep asking. I'll be sure to answer and I'll be back.
Speaking of people who don't wonder, it seems like there are a lot of people.
There are no answers to people who don't have questions.

Common sense, meaning, assumptions, decisions, etc.
Unbeknownst to me, I took a fixed view
It's getting harder to see the truth.
Even if zazen meditation and public planning are meant to leave that way of looking at things
It's there.
Give meaning and value to good and evil, profit and loss, clean and dirty
If you walk away and just work hard on what's right in front of you
I think my important awareness will increase.

The time has come to break the cycle of incessant and endless reincarnation.

This is Kawaguchi Hidetoshi. This is my humble answer to the question.

We have continued to drift through the dark path of ignorance for a long time in this endless reincarnation.

If you are aware of that question, it is finally time to set out for Buddhism in order to clear up ignorance (fundamental ignorance). Thank you very much.

In order to end the cycle (repetition of hesitation and suffering) not only of humans, but of all sentient beings (not only the affectionate beings of the Earth, but all sentient beings in this universe, all affectionate people in hell, hungry demons, etc.), let's raise a precious Bodhi mind that aims for enlightenment, and by all means practice Buddhism.

The purpose and goal of Buddhism is enlightenment and nirvana for all sentient beings.

Let's work hard together and walk the path of Buddhism.
